Joeland Cosico Cuenca was born in Valenzuela, a town north of Manila on March 11, 1976.  A pisces, he indeed is a timid person but charismatic and full of spirit.  Cocoy as he is fondly called by close families and friends is a funny person yet very amiable and witty. star for all season in his own right, Cocoy was a nickname inspired from Cocoy Laurel, a well known cinematic and stage actor in late 70's who happened to be an idol of his mother.

Cocoy grew up in San Mateo, San Pablo City as his parents moved to Laguna when he was a year old upon the request of his grandfather.  Together with his two brothers (Juancho Chito & James Calvin) and two sisters (Anna Chona & Anna Cherry), Cocoy was brought up by his parents in a simple yet dignified lifestyle.  He was taught to be God loving and very respectful to others especially to person older than him, values which are very eminent and reflective on the way he moves and does things.  At age of five, he was sent to a Day Care Center in San Mateo where his talents were first nurtured.  At six, he went to San Pablo Central School for his kindergarten onwards to his elementary grades.  He was a dreamer.  At one point in his young age, he dreamed of becoming a doctor inspired by his uncle who was then in the medical profession. Cocoy's early years in secondary school was very competitive.  An active high schooler, he joined contest in declamation, oration, debate, spelling & quiz bees.  He experienced both losing and winning games each of which have left markings in his heart to strive more, head up and try again after losing and sharing success to everyone after winning.  A consistent class scholar, he was more inclined in history and sciences.  At third year, he was elected president of his class.
