John 'Gentleman' Jackson, a famous boxer and something of a hero to Byron who had his portrait hung in his Cambridge rooms (now in Newstead Abbey), he even managed to have boxing lessons from his hero!

Byron's statue in Wren Library at Trinity Colllege. See next page for different views. The statue was intended for Westminster Abbey but was refused by the snotty guys there due to B's "dubious morals"
