Conformity to the System....
coming soon
Back To My Main Page.
Conformity gives some a comfort and satisfaction. It is an impossibility to avoid conformity in many ways. In some ways however, conformity to some things can easily be avoided. It seems in this world, many times originallity isn't easy. You do something. Everytime it is done, you are seen as the one that does that. What if somebody joins in? Are you the one seen doing that? You come up with a style of something, but if everyone does that later on, what will you be to all the others that do that as well? It seems many cannot think up original stylish ideas of their own, so they use other people's. This makes the original maker of that, no more than the confomers of that. It seems at sometimes, this conformity is a system. The conformists are part of the system. Pop music pisses me off many times. Everyone is a fan of a band or whatever. They all love it. What is an individual fan to the entire group of millions of fans? Nothing more than one of the many fans. Punk Rock sprouted as a hatred toward this. Life is so much better when you try not to conform. Ever see someone with an 'Nsync shirt? In your mind, you probably subconsciously think "Oh, another person with an 'Nsync shirt." You don't think "Woah look! They like 'nsync! cool." Not just cuz 'nsync's music really sucks, but because there are so many fans, that you don't think they're really cool. I'm not saying stay away from any popular band, I'm just warning you that you aren't seen as much of an individual in the group of this. I used to like Blink-182. They were not popular back then. My brother's friend came over and saw that I liked Blink-182. He also liked them. We seemed to have a bond more than any common 'nsync fan would. When Blink-182 came out on their new cd and on MTV, everyone knew about them. I wore my usual Blink-182 shirts to school and I got many non-fans saying "Blink-182 sucks!!!" After many other people's opinions, I got sick of this. I put away my Blink-182 shirts and a fan they had helped so much, dimmed out. They went on MTV for money and left all their fans in the cold. Conformity will make you feel smaller. If you wear a punk t-shirt, nobody really knows who the "Sex Pistols" are but the punks who really like them. Instead of hearing "Oh, they suck" you hear either "who are they?" or "they're cool." In this paragraph, I don't really think I can get to a point of conclusion, but I will finish writing this soon.
