Common name: Brown Spider monkey

Measurements: Head-body length=416-582, Tail length=680-899, Hindfoot length=176-217, Ear length=31-46, Weight=5.9-10.4 Kg

Description: Upper parts brown, under parts paler white or pale brown. Head with or with out a triangular white patch. Tale upperparts brown and pale below.

Natural History: They live in tropical forests to 1300 meters. These primates use mature and secondary forest. Diurnal, arboreal. Solitaries or in groups until 20 members. Feeds on ripe fruits, wood and leaves. Live in the canopy.

Distribution: In Colombia they live in Boyacá, Santander, norte de Santander, Bolivar and Magdalena departments.

Status: Critical Endager (IUCN 2003), No Evaluated (Rodríguez 1998).

Common name: Cotton-top Tamarin

Measurements: HB=205-255, T=307-411, HF=66-72, O=20-24, Weight=350-510 g. Males larger than females.

Description: Upper parts brown, sometimes frosted or yellowish. Head with a white crest of long hair. Face black with some white hairs. Tail non prehensile brown in the firs third and black in the last part.

Natural History: They live in tropical forests to 800 meters. These primates use mature and secondary forest. Diurnal, arboreal. Live in groups from 2 to 20 individuals. Feeds on  fruits, insects, small vertebrates and sometimes from leaves.

Distribution: They live in the north of Colombia, east of the Atrato river and west of the Cauca and lower Magdalena rivers. In the  Antioquia, Atlántico, Bolívar y Sucre departments .

Status: Endangered (IUCN 2003), Endangered (Rodríguez 1998).
