Common name: Black Uakari Monkey Measurements: Head-body length=300-500, Tail length=125-210, Hindfoot length=111-143, Ear length=19-36, Weight=2.4-4 Kg Males larger than females Description: Head, forearms, feet and abdomen black. Chest with red skin and dark hair. Shoulders dark brown whit a long cape of hair yellowish or black. Tail short. Natural History: They live in tropical forests to 500 meters, near to black water rivers. Diurnal, arboreal. Solitaries or in groups between 15 and 30 members. Feeds on fruits and may be nuts. Distribution: In Colombia they live between the Guaviare and Apaporis Rivers. Status: Low Risk least concern (IUCN 2003), Vulnerable (Rodríguez 1998). |

Common name: Titi monkey Measurements: HB=287-360, T=331-480, HF=84-102, E=26-36, Weigth=860-1400 g. Description: Head with a white line in the front. Crown brown or redish. Collar and underparts redish. Upperparts brown to yellowish. Natural History: They live in mature or secondary tropical forests to 500 meters, specially borders and gallery forest. Diurnal, arboreal. Solitaries or in groups between 15 and 30 members. Feeds on fruits, leaves and insects. Monogamous and live in groups up to 4 individuals. Distribution: In Colombia they live in the Amazon, south to the Caqueta River. Status: Low Risk least concern (IUCN 2003), Vulnerable (Rodríguez 1998).
