What Floor?                     ___________________

It’s hard to find the easy things
The difficult ones are so clear
A can of coke in one hand
I walk up to the elevator
And with a flick of a button
I am outside your door
But all this is forgotten
As a flurry of questions
Makes lifting my fist to knock
A Herculean task
It’s amazing how you can find the time to take another look
At what is passing you by
It’s one of the things
That I have to be jealous of
When I see you.

Last Call                      ___________________

We were still, quite motionless
Sat alone again today
Can't say I love the change
But better than the alternative?
Rotate glance around to see
Yes
We are last.
But is that what this is
A rush to stay still heads collide too slow
We'll list off all the things we aren't
At least until they Call us in
For Another Day
Wait for it
Wait
And now again we set off
Searching for the others
That left so soon, punctual as always
For
The ones who couldn't care less
What we do while we waste
Our time: this is what you silently say to
Me
As we are still.

blink blink butterfly kisses blink blink (they leave a trail on your cheek)                     ___________________

That's just the sound of my
Everwasting time. my
Patience growing thin. my
Heart beating at a different
Pace, pace. different pace-pace
Pace than yours.
Hear me smile, and
See me scream, and
Feel me change, into your
Dreams
Oh look! butterfly kisses.

A book with a dull cover worn by too many times
Being set aside, not as well loved as some,
Perhaps. A good story, but each time the fifth page
Leers up at my over-stimulated gaze I turn around
Again. Words swim uniformly against scarred paper, edges
Torn. Echoing in unhearing ears, they haunt me.
Subtle crying hits the walls, covered in posters,
Clinging. Desperate for new colours, the brown book
(Or was it black?) wears it's cover not with dignity,
But with surrender. Forced speeches tremble in the
Stiffened air, drenched with a powerful, starch-like
Exhaustion. I am aware of the clock ticking, it's
Sound silent beneath the hum of aging fluorescents.
Tortured thoughts are easy to grasp. It is a
Simple thing, the ruin and perversion or so-called
Good Ideas. Corners round as I drop you, again.
Against the hard ground, we appear so soft.

Sunshower                     ___________________

Are you falling, Angel?
Spread your wings in flight.
And when the black hands hold you,
Fend off their dark with light.

Your time is now, small Angel.
I know you'll fight your fears.
It's not the Armageddon,
So don't shed your silver tears.

The child was jealous, Angel.
He fell in love with you.
He took away your ivory wings,
Don't let him take you too.

Lock me in a room,
No one will find me.
The wind howls, the light shines
May we never be free?

The Empty Hall                     ___________________

The girl walks the empty hall
She's wearing black
It shows pale against her hair
She walks the halls alone
She's singing softly
There's blood on her bare feet now
The girl walks on alone
She's frightened
But can't show it anymore
The halls fill with voices
But she's still lonely
The ghosts point accusing fingers
She starts to run through the empty hall
They walk the halls alone
They walk on alone
They're singing softly

Found You One                     ___________________

Welcome to your preppy junkyard
Statically powered business booms
Hisses through homes
Hard on the heels
Of invisible venues
Bought cheap as they come
An emo-kid for every corner
Only carefree those who walk free
Sorry about your preppy dreams

Spiral                     ___________________

The sky disappearing
The clouds become smoke
The flames are electric
The singers they choke

A lion's metal claws
A roar to a screech
An arm stretching out
A hand you can't reach

The one thing that's constant
The one thing that's fate
The spiraling downwards
The judgment of weight

A movement of people
A textbook of prayers
A man in a freak show
A vanishing fair

The life's always ending
The light's always there
The death's just beginning
The girl doesn't care

I think that's Everything                     ___________________

Protector
You save me from my own cold hall
Companion
And when I'm surrounded and small
Friend
Spirits and angels seem nothing at all
Inspire
You make bad love songs beautiful
Lovely
I'm jealous of those who never fall

Forever
My mind fills with possibilities unseen
Forever
What does this poison seem to mean
Forever
Waiting for the towers to lean

Poe                     ___________________
Dawn breaks like glass,
And lies shattered on the floor.
Sunlight begins to creep
Through the ancient wooden door.

There are no birds outside
My bedroom window.
No one to greet me;
None who would sink so low

As to cheer an old, crazed poet.
I am waiting for cold hands
Death himself will claim
All the poisoned lands.

The dawn breaks like glass,
Then is covered by a layer of nothing-dust
The old oak door speaks to me;
Silently, silently it moans.

Sickening feelings
of hate
joy

But can we truly
fulfill
this?
Or is it a
hidden meaning
Behind a wooden horse
Storming castles with
Vanity
Not
Force.

She likes you, but not your style.
I like him, just not his smile.
The story told will take a while.
Someday sail the river Nile.
He loves me when I love "Kyle".
The story told can wait a while.
Turn my head and twist the dial.
I feel me but not my style.
This life to tell should make you smile.

For You                     ___________________
Close the blinds and shut the door
Turn off the lights
They'll shine no more
Trying to hide in the day's cold rage
I shrink back frightened
You've locked a cage
I told myself
Find one to blame
I chose you
Put my hand in the flame
I wanted no pain,
Never again to speak these things
A feather, a flight
The angel's naught without your wings
