| Day-1 |
|________|
STEP - 1
Once you have sufficient document there should not be any problem on the first day. Time slotted for the first day
work is 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. but you need to stand in the queue from sometime before. Though the formation of
queue starts at 4:00 AM , you can go there at 7:00 Am for your satisfaction. If you go there in the time slotted for
you then also there is no problem. Inside the embassy there is a separate queue for student and so you can take
it easy. But be sure to reach there before 10:00 AM, otherwise your application might not be considered that day.
Out of 200-250 applicants only 10-15 persons will be there for student's VISA so there is a very short queue for
student. In general student are asked to stand in the queue for counter No:1.
Though they give VISA application form in the queue you should download it from the net and fill it up before hand
. site : http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/new-delhi/studyingincanada-en.asp
When your turn comes you are supposed to give all the xerox copies of all the documents mentioned on the above
mentioned site, original passport and completed application form. You are not supposed to give the draft or cash over here.
If they think that you are needed to be interviewed you will be given a time(on the same day) for the interview
otherwise they will ask you to deposit the money or draft to the bank inside their office. they will give you a packet
containing all the documents you gave and a sticker with some number written on it with your name. For PhD students
they don't take interviews, they take interviews of those students who are going for 6 months or 1 year course.
STEP - 2
Once you pay the application fee for VISA in the bank you are done. Around 11:00 AM you are free to go anywhere
you want. You are supposed to go there on the same day evening for passport collection. Go there in the embassy in
between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM, there you will get to know the decision of your getting or not getting the VISA. If you will
get the VISA then they will give the passport along with a medical form (sample shown below). In the worst case you will
be given only passport(that means, you wont get your VISA). With probability 0.99 you will get the medical form along
with passport.
STEP - 3
Once you get your passport and medical check up form. Some medical agent (eg. ) will contact you for medical check up.
If you are in hurry and you want to avoid all sort of tension, you are not very confident that you can do it yourself then
you can go for that option. They will do everything in 2-3 hours( as they had told me, I am not very sure of it because I did
not follow them).
I am attaching a list of names of doctors, you are supposed to do your medical check up from any of these doctors.
Click here to have a look on the List of Doctors
On the same evening phone to one of these contact numbers and take the appointment of day-2 (next day) (do not waste
much time, try to phone him/her by 7:00 PM on day-1). Take appointment of 9:30-10:00 AM for day-2 for medical check up.
STEP - 4
Along with actual medical- check up form you will get another form with heading "Authority to disclose personal information".
you are supposed to fill it up on your own and get it notarified by some advocate. Auto rickshaw standing near the gate of
Canada high commission(CHC) will take you to the correct place. you just tell him that " notary karwana hai". He will take
you to Patiala House the sitting places of advocates of supreme court. There he himself will take you to the advocate. After
your job is done advocate will take something around Rs 200/- to Rs 300/-. Auto rickshaw fare from CHC to patiala house
is Rs 50/- . Now you can go home for the day.
