Background
Jennara Raventhorn was always ment to be a Bard. She was born some hundred years ago, the younger child and only daughter of Arvanywyn an Harelle Raventhorn. Her mother had shown great promise as a minstrel before she met Arvanywyn  and settled down in Ganorien,a small elven village in the eaves of Myth Drannor, and this talent was passed down in full to Jen. Because of this promise, she was immersed in music from a very young age. Not that music was her only study: her Father was a noted warrior, and he saw to it that young Jennara learned the basic weapons skills as well, and of course there were always other interesting things to  do and see. Some of these were things her parents would no doubt have preferred her not to do, but even then Jen was curious and rather mischievious, and after all, what harm did it do?
The one cloud in her life was her older brother Aerik. Having been the only child for over sixty years, he was less than thrilled with having a kid sister, and he resented her somewhat. Since Jen looked up to him, this caused her a  good deal of grief, and it motivated her to try to improve her swordsmanship: since all Aerik seemed to care about was swordplay, she hope to earn his respect by excelling at that as well. Somehow, it never seemed to help. But despite Aerik's resentment, Jennara was a happy child, enjoying life as only children can.
Even for an Elf, though, childhood cannot last forever. In Jen's case, it ended far too early, when she was in here early thirties. An orchish raiding party attacked Ganorien, and while it was eventually repelled, the cost was high, and both Aryanwyn and Narelle died in the fighting. Though the other Elves were willing to take her in, it was eventually decided that she would grow up with her mother's sister, Leandra. Aerik was old enough to take care of himself by then, and decided to go off adventuring, seeing the wide world and making a name for himself. She hasn't heard from him more than a few times since.
Growing up in a small town left Jennara ill prepared to deal with life with Leandra, For Leanda was the head of a group of elven Gypsies. But Jen quickly adjusted, helped immensely by the fact that Leandra had children only a few years older than Jen. These were the twins, Alara and Meloren, and they were almost as much of a hanful as Jen herself. But like Jen they were deeply interested in music, and the three spent the next sixty years travelling with Leandra, learning song and dance, refining their swordsmanship and archery, and generally turning Leandra's hair white with various escapades. They picked up other skills, too: they learned skills that would help them in some fairly illegal activities, since Leandra and her band weren't just simple travelling musicians. After all, an Elf's got to eat !!
There came a time, though, when Jen decided to strike out on her own. This was fairl recently (a few years ago), and in the intervening time, she's travelled wherever whim takes her, meeting the locals, earning her way with her  song and dance ( and occasionally with the unwitting of other people's purses). She's been trying to catch up with Aerik, but after all, she's still young and has plenty of time for that. In the mean time, there are so many neat things to see, and she wants to see it all !! Before getting sucked into the mists, she was passing through Cormyr, since when she last heard from Aerik ( some ten years ago ),he was based in Arabel.
Jennara has found that she loves the freedom of the adventuring life. She enjoys the risk and the travel, and maybe she'll accomplish some of her goals, which are rather numerous. She wants to be a famouse Bard and a famouse swordswomen. She wants to finally earn Aerik's respect, and she wants to make Leandra and the twins proud of her. Wealth, of course, is always nice, especially since she never really had a lot of it before. And above all, she wants to live up to her parent's ideal...
