| Chapter 15 |
| Mr. Collins talks to Mrs. Bennet about his design to marry one of his cousins. He wants Jane, but she tells him about Bingley. He then chooses Elizabeth. They all the girls and Collins walk into town, and they meet Mr. Wickham. After they meet him, Mr. Darcy and Bingley ride up and say hello to them. Elizabeth notices the odd behavior that passes between Darcy and Wickham. |
| Chapter 16 |
| Wickham, Collins, and the Bennet girls are invited to their aunt's house for some tea and cards. Here, Wickham confides to Lizzy about his history with Darcy. He tells her that his father was old Mr. Darcy's steward. After he died, the now Darcy was to take care of him, but he forsake him and left him penniless and without a carreer. This he tells Lizzy, is why they greeted each other as they did. This makes Lizzy hate Darcy even more. |
| Chapter 17 |
| Lizzy tells Jane what Wickham told her. The rest of the day is spent discusses the Netherfield ball. Mr. Collins asks Lizzy for the first two dances. Lizzy wanted Wickham to dance with her these dances, but she went and obliged Collins. |
| Chapter 18 |
| All the Bennet's go to the ball. Lizzy looks for Wickham, but he isn't there. Mr. Collin's was an awful dancer.She tells Charolotte what Wickham told her. Darcy asks Lizzy to dance. She grudingly agrees. They talk about Wickham a little. He doesn;t tell her much, but when the dance ends, he is mad at Wickham. Miss Bingley tells her that she needs to stop crushing on Wickham because he treated Darcy badly.. Lizzy gets mad. |
| Chapter 19 |
| Mr. Collins proposes to Lizzy. Lizzy is horrified by this idea, and refuses him. But he thinks that she is just being flirtatious by refusing him. She declares she is sincere and leaves the room. |
| Chapter 20 |
| Mrs. Bennet hears what Lizzy has done and is mad. She tells Mr. Bennet to reason with her. He basically tells her that he agrees with Lizzy. Charolette comes over and agrees to take Mr. Collins over her house. Mrs. Bennet declares she will never speak to Lizzy again. |
| Chapter 21 |
| All of the girls walk into town, where they meet Wickham. He explains to Lizzy that he thought it might be better if he weren;t at the ball afterall.Jane receives a letter from Caroline that the whole party has left for London and don;t expect to come back. She tells her that she hopes that Bingley and Darcy's sister, Georgian will get married. |
| Chapter 22 |
| Elizabeth finds out that Charolette and Mr. Collins are engaged. She was surprised and almost gets upset with Charolette for her choice. But Charolette tells Lizzy she was never romantic and only asks for a comfortable home which Mr. Collins can provide. |
| Chapter 23 |
| Jane replies to Caroline's letter. The whole family by now knows of Mr. Collins and Charolette's engagement. Lizzy agrees to go to Charolette's new home some time around easter. |

| Chapter 24 |
| Jane receives another letter from Miss Bingley confirming that they will be staying in London. She mentions Darcy's sister again. Jane thinks she is gentle saying that Bingley isn't in love with her. Lizzy thinks that she is trying to push Bingley and Jane apart. |
| Chapter 25 |
| The girls' aunt and uncle Gardiner arrive to spend Christmas with them. Lizzy introduces Wickham to her aunt, who just so happened to grow up near Derbyshire, the place where Darcy lives. She begins to notice Lizzy may be attached to Wickham. |
