Violently checking an opponent into the boards

To hit an opponent with the end of the stick furthest end of the stick from the blade

If more than 3 strides are taken before checking an opponent

To hit an opponent with both hands on the stick and no part of the stick on the ice

The carrying of the stick above shoulder level.  Always results in a face-off. If stick is used against an opponent a penalty is given.  If not just a face-off. No goal can be scored on a high stick.

To use your hands on an opponent or his equipment

To impede an opponent with the blade of your stick

Hockey Terms

Slowing or stopping an opponent with the puck by using your hip or shoulder. (legal)

3 or more goals by a single player in a game
