Ford Model T
An internationel jury consisted of motorjournalists and
experts, choosed Ford Modell T as the winner of the "Car Model of the Century".
The honour was for the new thinking it brought when it came, both wihtin design,
the the total influence to the car industrie, and the people.
"We salute the "T-Ford" as the winner for the competition" says Fred van der
Flugt, chairman of the board at Global Automotive Elections Foundation.
The jury consisted of 126 peoples and represented 32 countries. Private persons
were also invited to vote. The jury worked in three years with a list of total
200 cars, down to 100 cars and 27 cars at the beginning of 1999. Five finalists
remained
1. Ford Model T: 742 points
2. Mini all types: 617 points
3. Citro�n DS: 567 points
4. Volkswagen Beetle: 521 points
5. Porsche 911: 303 points
