Fender Esquire
This guitar started out as a Fender Telecaster MIM (Made In Mexico) Squier series, that I purchased for $139.00 at a local Guitar Center.  The MIM Squires were the forerunners of the current MIM Fender standards, and this one played great, sounded excellent, and was way too cheap to pass up.  I took it home and spent some quality time replacing the switch and pots, and rewiring it into an Esquire*, with a mother of toilet seat pickguard.  The body is not a string through, but it has good sustain and awesome TWANG!  Fender recently released a MIM Esquire for $599.99...
*  "Essentially a single pickup Telecaster, the Esquire was originally introduced in 1950 and was Fender's first electric solid body guitar"
