Defination Of Genetic Engineering ?
Genetic engineering is when you get two genes you like the look of and extract the DNA from one of them into the other one.You then have one gene of both qualitys. This is a very expensive process but is very helpful to some people. Especially farmers, The DNA what you transfer contains the coded information needed to produce proteins, Such as Enzymes, Hormones, Haemoglobian and the muscle tissue.

Without Genetic Engineering the world would soon die of hunger (after many years). Because there would not be enough food to feed the growing population of the world.
Were Is It Used ?
Advantages & Disadvantages ?
Genetic Engineering is used in many places all over the world, Genetic Engineering is even being used in potatoes. In the potatoes in the USA is a poisonous substance or toxin which is known as bt (Bee Tee) and is lethal to insect pests and so the potato has an in-built pestisite in its tissues. This is better because it is cheaper to the farmers than having to spray them.

As well as potatoes the USA use Genetic Engineering on other vegetables. Such As Tomatoes. They use it to ripe the tomatoes when they want because if they pick them when they are ripe then by the time they get them to the market to seel them they are un-ripe. The British also use Genetic Engineering on Wheat.
Theres are many Advantages and disadvantages to Genetic Engineering but I will just give my point of view. I think the main disadvantage of using Genetic Engineering is the risk of getting a disease which cannot be treated as it is passed on as a bacteria. Another disadvantage is that they pick the tomatos when they are un-ripe and spray them with this stuff..Does this seem healthy?

I think there are a few advantages of Genetic Engineering if you have got the money. Tha main advantage is definatly being able to choose the outcome or your gene. Having the option to mix two genes is definatly a good advantage. And for farmers Ginetic Engineering is the pinnacle of success. As they pick un-ripe tomatoes and when they are about to sell them they execute a little Ginetic Engineering and the tomatoes are suddenly ripe..
