Hotmail uses security measures that allow only the Internet Protocol (IP) address with which you signed into Hotmail to access your e-mail - it bars all other IP addresses from accessing Hotmail. You may encounter this message if:
- You have signed in on more than one machine. You cannot return to an earlier session if you have subsequently signed in from a different address.
- You are connecting through a proxy server that changes your IP address within a single session. If this is the case, you need to contact your system administrator.
- You are no longer connected to the Internet. Your connection to the Internet (your modem line, for example) may have been dropped. Once your connection is re-established, you need to sign into Hotmail again, even though your browser appears to be connected.
