Noon at Ngayon Pagsasamang Kayganda: Star Cinema's Grand Novelty & Modern Melodramatic Movie Event!
Taken from abs-cbn.com
In its tradition to bring viewers closer to movies that matter, classics-in-the-making, consistent blockbusters and ideal for family viewing, Star Cinema offers another brilliant melodrama for people of all ages, Noon at Ngayon Pagsasamang Kayganda.

A very fresh and light but realistic melodrama that explores the new realities on family bonding, strength of friendship and the barriers now broken on love affairs and romances of all kinds, Noon at Ngayon Pagsasamang Kayganda is screenplayed by
Ricky Lee and is directed by Marilou Diaz-Abaya. Anticipated to be another movie event to continue the triumph of Star Cinema on it's 10th Year Anniversary, Noon at Ngayon Pagsasamang Kayganda stars premiere actresses headed by Dina Bonnevie, Cherry Pie Picache, Jean Garcia and Eula Valdez. It also boasts today's hottest young actors like Marvin Agustin, Paolo Contis, Jodi Sta. Maria, Aiza Marquez, Dimples Romana, Patrick Garcia and Jericho Rosales!

A movie that identifies set norms of society but also ironically detours from them, Noon at Ngayon Pagsasamang Kayganda is the perfect movie for the family. From parental guidance to friendship bonds, from romance to sexual behaviours, Lee and Diaz-Abaya both weave a movie everybody can relate with and accept and understand why values change for the new world and why responsibility for the self must remain intact. Noon at Ngayon Pagsasamang Kayganda mainly sets four women who sought to live against the norms and survived and discovers themselves. Amid the gender restrictions and social unrest they simultaneously discover themselves. Several years later, the stories of Joey, Sylvia, Kathy, and Maritess continue along with that of a new generation that redefine conventions anew. Noon at Ngayon Pagsasamang Kayganda begins with the homecoming of Joey (Dina Bonnevie) after nearly a decade of living in the States. With Joey back, the four friends find themselves "complete" again. They reminisce on the good old times and marvel at the changes in each other's lives. Ever-effervescent Kathy (Jean Garcia) has given up her girlhood dream to be a singer-something her vacious teenaged daughter, Bernadette (Aiza Marquez), seemingly inherited. Divorced Sylvia (Eula Valdez) brought up her son Bobby (Marvin Agustin) in a liberal way. But ironically recoils at her son's flaw. Widow Maritess (Cherry Pie Picache) slowly contends with the complexities of being a mother to three independent, self-asserting children. Pregnant Guia (Jodi Sta. Maria) chooses to remain single, Bryan (Paolo Contis) takes pride in his homosexuality, and artist Levi (Jericho Rosales) yearns for something beyond what his present life can offer.

While what is stigmatized against are now acceptable, Joey, Kathy, Sylvia and Maritess --- these women abound with freedom while they tread the new world. "If we see this movie, what makes it fresh and witty is its lightness. Kase it adapts responsibly with the sign of the times, yung spirito ng kabataan, at openmindedness ng mga elders natin ngayon, kung baga the dynamism of today's people in today's society nasa Noon at Ngayon...tuloy pa rin," quips Ricky Lee.

A light and modern melodrama with a pinch and kick to the heart and perfect for the family Noon at Ngayon Pagsasamang Kayganda will open all minds on August 13, 2003!
