PATRICK Garcia is the youngest best actor award winner in the country.
At the age of 15, he won the Star best actor award for "Batang PX" in 1997. Now turning 22, Patrick is showing fine dramatic sensibility in the ABS-CBN soap, "Darating ang Umaga," as the poor son of Eula Valdes who falls in love with the rich daughter of Glydel Mercado and Aljon Jimenez, Jodi Sta. Maria.
Some people think he is too thin but Patrick says he's not worried about this.
"I asked my fans about it and they told me they want me to be buff like The Hunks," he says. "I'm comfortable with how I look now, but if our director, Rory Quintos, would tell me to work to be more muscular, then I'd do it."
It's common knowledge Jodi is going steady with the son of Sen. Panfilo Lacson while he has his own non-showbiz girlfriend.
Won't this be harmful to their love team?
"Our love team on screen is not affected by our personal life. Trabaho lang ito. The fans accepted our love team in 'Tabing Ilog,' when we guested in 'Maalaala Mo Kaya,' in 'Pangako sa 'Yo,' in the movie 'Jologs' and now in 'Darating ang Umaga.' So obviously, they enjoy seeing us together. Puwede kaming magplastik and show that we're sweet to each other even off camera, for the sake of the love team, but we don't want to fool the people.
