| Listen carefully and I shall tell Of how Boromir of Gondor fell To darkness was he lost one day One day...far...far away It came to him, the Ring of Doom It engulfed him in its deadly gloom His name, the evil thing did call "Boromir! Boromir! I know all "I can see into your very soul Iknow what will make you whole You want me only for your people's sake But, before you men could quake "If only you would take the Ring Oh, I am a precious thing Do not let them tell you otherwise They are all tricksters in disguise" And so Boromir obeyed his heart He played his terrible part And stole from the unsuspecting halfling, the One--the Ring Frodo begged to him to hault But was forced to say it was Aragorn's fault Who could blame him for letting go When Aragorn's face didn't show After all, he had sworn his sword To protect his petite Lord But, where was he in this time of dread Frodo should have seen his head But, what he didn't know at the time Aragorn committed no crime He died galantly defending all While fighting orcs, I saw him fall |
I ran to his side, held up his head No, he could not be dead But, alas there was nothing that I could do for my friend--I could only cry But, had I known in that instant That Boromir had not been persistent While trying to deny his temptation And live a life of sanitation I would have forsook a forgiving heart And torn that wretched man apart For my friend lay dead He lay, I'm sure, in his stead Then Gollum, the poor beast Approached me and I was appeased He looked so innocent at first sight Though, I know now his heart wasn't right Be it so, I watched him go And alas, I am want to know That Boromir did not keep the ring For, Gollum stole the thing Alas, the tale is too melancholy We all know of Boromir's folly It has brought us to this end I can only hope Time may mend The aches that our souls contain And the ever present strain Between right and wrong Grow ever, ever, always strong For, listen carefully and I shall tell Of how Boromir of Gondor fell To darkness, was he lost one day One day...far...far away |
