In Memory of...
Peter Jennings
All across America
People know your name
But, will this poor old country
Ever be the same?

No longer are you there
Each evening before bed
When we'd gaze around the world
Before laying down our head

No more, is your voice,
And its unflinching peace--
Once it touched the world
And made the questions cease

You only were a moment;
We tried to keep you here,
But, no man could save you
As your time drew ever near

And now, there is no more
To say, except this truth:
A puff of smoke stole you away
And destroyed you in your youth
