The Confidant

From thy place, on mounted throne
Where Universe has its start
And light endures as Sun has gone
And ever great, thou art

You smile down, on what you made
So very long ago
Nor does that smile ever fade
As I am want to know

Lord, I have always held
A lasting love for thee
And that love I know you have felt
For, you beam with majesty

Yet, I must confess to thee, Lord
I have found another
I ask you to forgive me, Lord
Be to me, a father

I must confide in someone
Now, more than ever
I need someone to call on
For, Friendship has begun to wither

Your noble servant, here on earth
Asks with simple modesty
That you show her mercy and bring her mirth
And she shall always praise thee
