| What is Pretty Vacant? Pretty Vacant is a free e-mail rock fanzine (or you can say zine). In it, we feature many different sections; from news to reviews, new albums and new dvds. If it's worth getting, we'll let you know about it! If it's not, then we don't feature it. We have many sections in it. Even links to the best bands overseas! You just gotta subscribe and check it out for yourself. What's a zine? A zine is like a magazine, but it's online. It can be e-mail or by site. It's like a mini electronic magazine really. Which genres of rock are featured? We do it all. From our love of punk, to our love of metal. Not just punk and metal mind you--we also love what is known as "goth" rock, "alternative", "hard rock", "classic alternative" and "classic punk". We don't really believe in labels but so you know, that's our favorite music that we incorporate into the zine. When does it send out? Four times a year. We're on time anyway :P I want to work for the zine! What can I do? Anything! If you have a review you want to send in for your favorite new album or an editorial, send it in and we'll take a look at it. If we like it, we'll use it. If you want to help promote us, please do! Print out our ad and make copies and take them anywhere and everywhere with you. It would help us out so much and be incredibly appreciated! How are interviews done? Usually via AIM. We choose the bands we want to interview via their MySpace or their site, and ask to interview them. We set up a date and interview them at their convienence. We edit out their screen names and replace them with their names or initials. Let them to their human right of privacy, bitches. The title of the zine is familiar. Where's it from? Pretty Vacant is the name of one of the greatest songs of all time by the greatest band of all time on the greatest album of all time! It's by the Sex Pistols and from their 1977 album, "Never Mind the Bollocks". I am in a band. Can I be interviewed or can our album be reviewed? Sure! E-mail us and tell us about your band or send us your site. If we like what we see, then you can send one of us your album and we'll tell you what we think of it. Or, if you want to be interviewed, simply email us with a link to your site or somewher we can listen to your music. If you're unable to post your music on the internet then you need not worry. If we like you we'll interview you anyway. Do you pay for interviews? I'm afraid we don't. At the moment we pay for nothing and we don't allow anyone to pay us, however the offer is appreciated. Who is Pretty Vacant? Pretty Vacant is run completely by yours truly, Meghann. I do the site, myspacing, emails, interviews, send out the zine, editorials, etc. I do it all for you bitches and bishes! |
