| About Pretty Vacant |
| Pretty Vacant was created in September 2005 by Meghann and Kylee. We began this zine as more of a movement than a magazine. Agreeing the current state of music and youth culture was at an all time low, we decided to start something to give independent bands (and people who we found interesting) exposure. The zine was sent out once a month and gaining a large amount of exposure itself, interviewing not only independent labeled bands but major labeled bands as well. From Morningwood to Addiction Crew to others. From January-April 2006 Pretty Vacant zine went on a temporary hiatus but is now back with a vengenance. Since schedules are hectic these days, Pretty Vacant will be sent out 4 times a year, but always with the same unique love and fury combination for rock n roll and youth anarchy. The inspirations for creating this zine are of a large amount. Probably the most inspiring was the documentary by Don Lettes, "Punk: Attitude". Combined with Sex Pistols and a will to change the world, Pretty Vacant was concieved. And oh, the orgasm was great, and it still is, every time an issue is sent. We love rock n roll here and nothing, but nothing will stop us from giving the finger to authority and fucking it up and doing it for ourselves.
