Christened Princess Serenity III (or maybe even IV, V, etc.), she came to be known in the 30th Century as Small Lady or Princess Chibi Serenity and as Rini or Chibi Usa in present day Tokyo. Rini is short for Serenity and Chibi Usa is short for Chibi Usagi, nicknames, by the way. The Black Moon family and Wiseman knew her as the Moon Rabbit. In Sailor form, she is Sailor Chibi Moon, the senshi of the future moon.
Bearing the crescent moon symbol like her mother and her grandmother and possessing the powers of the moon, she is the future princess of an Earth kingdom, Crystal Tokyo. If Queen Beryl had not have killed her mother and father in their past lives, perhaps she would have ruled the Silver Millennium or her father's kingdom on Earth (maybe even both) but things didn't work out that way.
Even if Queen Beryl had not have killed her parents in their past lives, they probably would not have been allowed to marry each other anyway because they were the heirs to the thrones of different planets so...Princess Chibi Serenity still would not have ruled the Silver Millennium or Earth. This pink haired kid is very lucky because if not for her maternal grandmother, Queen Serenity, she would not exist because her parents would have remained dead. There would not have been a second chance for them. That would have been the end! *gasps*
Princess Chibi Serenity/Small Lady is the only child of Neo King Endymion and Neo Queen Serenity. I wonder if Queen Serenity knew when she gave up her life in order for Princess Serenity, her guardians (the senshi), and Prince Endymion to be reborn on Earth in the future, that her daughter and the man she loved would rule a kingdom on Earth in the 30th Century? She probably just hoped they would lead a happy life, never dreaming that they would have their own kingdom like they were supposed to have had in their first lives.
Small Lady possesses the powers of the moon, therefore her power is pink, just as her mother's is and her grandmother's was. Also, Rini's Sailor Crystal is pink. Now, Naoko must have had this in mind when she decided that Rini's hair would be pink although I like to think that Rini's hair is pink because of her parents' love for each other. Aw...how sweet.... This is just an observation on my part; the colors of Super Sailor Chibi Moon's skirt are yellow/gold and pink. The power of the moon is pink and the power of Earth is golden. Is her skirt those colors because of who her parents are? Just something to think about, I guess.
Rini's astrological sign is Cancer and her birthday is the same as her mother's, June 30th. Her blood type is O-, the same as her mother's. Also like her mother, Rini's favorite gemstone is the diamond and she strongly dislikes carrots. Sailor Chibi Moon has Sailor guardians just as her mother has the inner senshi for her guardians. They are Sailor Ceres, Sailor Juno, Sailor Vesta, and Sailor Pallas. She also has a guardian cat named Diana who is the daughter of Luna and Artemis. All I can say is "like mother, like daughter."
Small Lady's secret wish is to be as beautiful, graceful, serene, and kind as her mother, Neo Queen Serenity. Everyone sees her mother as a real lady and Small Lady wants to grow up to be just like her. She admires and envies her mother for so many reasons. Small Lady doesn't realize, at first, that her mother was not always graceful and calm and a serene pillar of strength....
Small Lady's best friend, at first, is Sailor Pluto which is sort of strange since Sailor Pluto is rather aloof. Small Lady lovingly calls her "Puu". She is Sailor Pluto's only friend because she is so isolated. She welcomes her company because she often gets lonely guarding the Time Gates. Small Lady took one of Sailor Pluto's Time Keys in order to travel to the past to find Sailor Moon when Crystal Tokyo was under attack. Sailor Pluto was the one that communicated with Rini through Luna P while she was trying to obtain the Silver Imperium Crystal/Ginzuishou.
The Black Moon family had been banished from Crystal Tokyo because they refused to be cleansed with the Ginzuishou. They returned and attacked the beautiful, peaceful city with the intention of completely destroying it. Princess Small Lady went into the room where her mother's Silver Imperium Crystal was, wanting to save Crystal Tokyo herself so that she could be seen as a real lady like her mother. Upon touching it, the Silver Imperium Crystal reacted and vanished.
Then, Neo Queen Serenity tried to defend the Crystal Palace without the Silver Imperium Crystal and went into a deep sleep that no one could bring her out of. Neo King Endymion was badly injured to the point that he was near death so that his spirit became separate from his body in order to find help. All this scared Small Lady tremendously and made her feel like it was all her fault, causing her to run away and take the Space Time Key to travel into the past. Neo Queen Serenity had often told her stories about a heroine named Sailor Moon and Small Lady remembered them and knew in her heart that she was the only one that could save Crystal Tokyo, Neo Queen Serenity, and Neo King Endymion.
Rini found Sailor Moon right away when she fell out of the sky and landed on her as a result of her traveling into the past. hehe. Rini went home with Usagi/Serena/Sailor Moon and brainwashed her parents into thinking that she was a relative. Rini seemed to be an annoying brat but it was a facade (front). She was really being annoying and irritating because she wanted to keep people at a distance, partly because of her lack of contact with anyone other than the people that lived in the Crystal Palace and also because she was suppressing her memories of the attack on Crystal Tokyo and the disappearance of the Ginzuishou. Rini suffered from flashbacks even though she tried to suppress her memories and she was terrified of lightning because it reminded her of the attack on Crystal Tokyo. Once she stopped worrying about her parents, Rini's true personality came out and it was discovered that she was not so bad after all. ^_^
Later on, Rini meets Hotaru who is Sailor Saturn. Hotaru is so happy to have Rini for a friend because others find her odd due to the fact that she has strange healing powers. Rini and Hotaru attend the same school, Minato-ku Juuban Elementary School.
In Sailor Moon Super S, Helios/Pegasus trusted Rini. He addressed her as "Maiden." Pegasus communicated with Rini using the Stallion Reve (a pink crystal ball) he gave her. He trusted her enough to bring her to the Crystal Forest and give her the Twinkle Bell/Crystal Carillon to call him with. He helped her become a stronger Sailor by adding power to her attacks as well as Sailor Moon's.
Sailor Star Chibi Moon was able to revive Helios because of her Pink Moon Crystal. Helios had had visions of Princess Chibi Serenity when she was all grown up (Princess Lady Serenity) but he didn't realize until after she had revived him that Rini/Small Lady was the woman he had seen. If not for her, Helios would have remained dead. Helios and Rini fell in love with each other but Helios had to go back to Elysion so he left, promising her that they would meet again.
Rini's special power is called Luna P Henge and this power allows her to change her Luna P (a toy that looks like the head of a cat) into any object she desires. She has another power similar to this called Luna P Magic which makes Luna P produce an object without actually becoming the object itself. Sailor Chibi Moon's attack is Pink Sugar Heart Attack which sends pink hearts flying from her Moon Stick to attack/distract the enemy. It's a rather weak attack and sometimes it doesn't even work. As Super Sailor Chibi Moon, her powers are Twinkle Yell and Moon Gorgeous Meditation. She uses Twinkle Yell to call Pegasus with her Crystal Carillon/Twinkle Bell. She uses her Moon Kaleidoscope for Moon Gorgeous Meditation.
In the manga, her other powers are Double Rainbow Moon Heart Ache, Double Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss, Pink Sugar Tuxedo Attack, and Pink Lady's Freezing Kiss. She is only able to do Double Rainbow Moon Heart Ache and Double Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss with Sailor Moon. Pink Sugar Tuxedo Attack was only used once and for this attack Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Chibi Moon both hold onto Chibi Moon's Moon Stick. Pink Lady's Freezing Kiss was also only used once. Sailor Star Chibi Moon can only do this attack with the Asteroid Senshi, her guardian senshi.
