CLASS DESCRIPTION
An experienced early childhood education teacher provides a fun, developmentally appropriate curriculum for the children with various activities to encourage exploration and brain development. The daily Co-op schedule includes circle/song activities, free choice time with art, sensory, play activities, snack, and gross-motor play outside most days as weather permits. The general philosophy is to provide a safe, child-centered environment where children and parents can grow and learn together.

PARENT EDUCATION & INVOLVEMENT
Parents/guardians attend weekly with their children and participate in many activities. Parents are enrolled in a Parenting Education class through Peninsula College and earn credits for their participation in the program. Each week, parents rotate turns as teachers assistants helping with supervising activities, clean-up or bringing a snack. During the free choice activity time, the parents that are not scheduled to help with the children that day meet in a parent discussion group with a parent education instructor from Peninsula College. Various parenting topics are covered during these discussions and at other parent meetings providing parent support as well as research-based information.
