PRJ Bio, Ray Winkler (bass)
Bassist Ray Winkler, originally from Zeeland, Michigan, has played professionally for over 13 years.  Ray has played bass and toured the United States with the likes of Hal Smith and the Renaissance Jass Band, The Blue Devil Big Band, and currently acts as the Director of the famed Jazz I.N.C. Big Band, a powerhouse big band based out of Custer Road U.M.C. in Plano, Texas.  As a sideman, Mr. Winkler has been the foundation for jazz artists such as pianist John Shea, guitarist Earl Haynes, pianist Brad Williams, saxaphonist Will Campbell, and many other jazz artists.

Mr. Winkler is also the Head Orchestra Director at Ted Polk Middle School, in Carrollton, Texas, where he directs one of the states largest and most successful middle school orchestra programs.  Ray is also an active clinician and adjudicator in Texas and the southwest and is a member of the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.  His love of teaching also flows into his home studio.  Many of Ray's students have been placed in "All State" organizations and been awarded university scholarships.

Mr. Winkler is married to Carolyn, an amazing high school choral director in Plano, Texas.  Carolyn and Ray have a dog named Penny, who is so smart she can fly commercial aircraft if the situation warrants and will also accompany Mr. Winkler on the piano from time to time.
