Water Wars

Fresh water in the world is becoming scarce for our future generations so countries are planning the future battlefield already. In a few hundred years the water supply on earth is going to be limited. It already is limited in the Middle East. They are having water wars already over a little bit of fresh water. Water is getting really scares. We dont have enough technology to make water. 75% of the earth is water but 2.5 percent of the world's water is fresh (not-salty), and two-thirds of that is locked up in glaciers and icecaps(http://www.worldwater.org/conflictIntro.htm) is fresh water that people can actually use. The salt water is worst because the salt goes in Ur body and dries it out and that what the people of the 3rd countries are undergoing.
In the Middle East thee are growing problems because it is so hot and arid there. This isnt good because they are actually having wars over it. There are many factors hurting the water population today. There are factors such as growing amount of population meaning that the water supply will soon run out fast with more people drinking from it. In the next 2 decades it is estimated that freshwater use by humans will increase by 40 percent worldwide.( http://www.geocities.com/chandra5552/) Another distress is pollution. Pollution in our fresh water is a big problem because we are wasting the water. We are pollution the systems that carry us water. The rivers, the mountains streams, and all the other ways we get water. This isnt a good thing because of the mass needing for water. All these reasons are why our water amount is going to plummet within the next fknsdbfkjbs years.
Background
Over the past 20 years, more than 2.4 billion people (the current total world population is more than 6 billion and growing rapidly) have gained access to the global water supply and 600 million to sanitation. About 70 percent of this water is used in agriculture to grow food and fiber on which society depends(http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/677547.stm) . This is not a good statistic. We need wheat and fiber but we need water more because people cans starve but people cannot thirst, You will die quicker so this means that water should be in more demand that the food. Food is important but the thing is that the water is more important because hunger is an unresolved issue but thirst is more. You can live without food for about a week. You will die without water in 2 days.
Water tables are dropping fast in fossil aquifers across the Western United States, and water tables are falling as much as a meter a year in many parts of Mexico, India, Yemen and China. (http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_health/diseases/diarrhoea/en/)  Water tables are skhfdkhdfdsfsjdhf. This is a very bad thing. This means that a meter per year for the natural water supply is going one meter a year so basically we are having less and less water as we speak. Its not for us we are worried we are worried about our kids and there kids and there kids after that. And since 3 billion people in developing countries still live on less than US$2.00/day, water shortages and environmental degradation have become the norm, making clean water availability a scarcer and scarcer resource to acquire(Water Problems 2001). This means that the water the government does isnt getting enough money to buy water from other countries to use to hydrate the third countries unbelievable water shortages. This is a world epidemic and we have to find some way to help it. Our water I s running out and because of the last few decades it has gone down a tremendous amount.
Water Wars
The point of this essay was to show how bad our supply of water is getting it also is going to tell you how desperate we get for water. The third world countries are starting to fight over water and the 1 and 2 class countries are doing the same thing but in a more civil way. We the United States is making sure we have dibs on our water and making sure that we have enough. We have fresh water supplies that are cleaned and sanitized everyday. The third world counties are actually battling each other for water. It is getting so ridiculous that people are actually killing each other over water because they are so dependent on water, which they should be because we all need it and they are seeing the distention consequences because of all the deaths they are having.
The scarcity of freshwater in this region compounded by the historical, political and religious tensions, makes the Middle East one of the most intractable water disputes to be found anywhere on the planet (http://www.hewett.norfolk.sch.uk/curric/NEWGEOG/Africa/waterwar.htm) . They are having so many problems because of water it is incredible. We have seeing the worst of the wars in the middle east because we dont just have it in court we have it the courts and so we mix a little religion into it and then we get a huge dispute over water and religion and thats not cool.
Each day it is estimated that 6,000 people lose their lives to diarrhea disease. Most of these people are children under the age of five.( http://www.hewett.norfolk.sch.uk/curric/NEWGEOG/Africa/waterwar.htm) When you get dehydration you can get a disease and this isnt just thirsting you it is slowly but surely killing you off. Most of the people that get this disease die before the age of 5.
Water Strategies
Water resources have rarely, if ever, been the sole source of violent conflict or war but its can do some damage and make more people mad. There are things that water can be used for in political debate or violence. That can be used as a tool. Water resources have rarely, if ever, been the sole source of violent conflict or war
Control of Water Resources (state and non-state actors): where water supplies or access to water is at the root of tension. Military Tool (state actors): where water resources, or water systems themselves, are used by a nation or state as a weapon during a military action. Political Tool (state and non-state actors): where water resources, or water systems themselves, are used by a nation, state, or non-state actor for a political goal.
Terrorism (non-state actors): where water resources, or water systems, are either targets or tools of violence or coercion by non-state actors. Military Target (state actors): where water resource systems are targets of military actions by nations or states. Development Disputes (state and non-state actors): where water resources or water systems are a major source of contention and dispute in the context of economic and social development. Things like these examples can really make people realize own much water is a political and violent conflict. People take water for granted and they should stop because in the near future, in our life time this is going to come down hard and fast and all at one time. The politicians are going to stat using the water for more and more purposes. The wars are going to not break to because of the water recourses but it will make a difference and add to the conflict. It can be used to kill people in a terror attack. Water is a friend not an enemy. It can be used in many ways and not just drinking but in political ways.
Resolution
There is no resolution to this problem. I dont think there ever will be it is too much of a touchy subject and it wont get touched for a good time. We should have laws passed that only a certain amount of water can be taken out and that the water supply is going down. People in the USA arent suffering but its the poorer people in the Middle East and in Africa. They have no good source for water; they get disease because there water is so messed up with disease and other problems. They need to be helped and sent of desalination plants to help them understand that they cannot drink the water. They need to be drinking the good water and it must be clean.
The water table under Beijing has dropped roughly 2 meters (6.5 ft.) a year for the past decade, and a third of the city's wells have dried up(http://www.worldwater.org/conflictIntro.htm). The water tables around the world with fresh water are shooting out and we need to find a solution fast. There are desalination pants around the coast but they dont take the salt out of the salt water fast enough for the human resources to drink. We need to find a solution to this unresolved problem quick because we are loosing our water, loosing people, and starting feuds. Dirty water already may be killing 10 million or more people every year and causing untold economic damage.( http://www.hewett.norfolk.sch.uk/curric/NEWGEOG/Africa/waterwar.htm)  Water contamination and not having any water at all kill people worldwide every single day. People need to be saved. People need to be helped. People need to be rescued. People need to have clean water. People just need a stable water supply.
