LIGHT BRAHMA Very old asian breed brought to the United States by sailors around 1850. The hen is very massive and its legs are totally feathered; it is thus protected against cold weather. With its plumage displaying nice columbian patterns and its characteristic raptor face, it is nice to look at, yet very docile and calm, but slower to mature than other breeds. The hen lays very large brown eggs. A select bird for shows, as well as a good meat bird.
Standard weight : cock : 12 pounds cockerel : 10 pounds hen : 9.5 pounds pullet : 8 pounds 150 eggs/yr 27-30 oz/dz
