Did you ever know

Did you ever know?
Yes, dear one.
Did you ever know how much I
had to go through just to hold
for a solitary second
a single flower I can't keep?
If only you knew how much
pain I was willing to go
through...all for you.
Leaving back all my dreams,
I tied myself to you.
Letting go, and saying farewell
to all I ever believed in.
I still loved you,
and still cherished the high cherry blossom
so pale, so fresh, completely out of my reach,
even to the point of my untimely death.
I did it all for you.
