Project: Medical
Image Compression Based on Region of Interest for Electronic Patient Record System (EPRS). (Implementation in MATLAB) Guide: Dr. S.
Dandapat, Asst. Professor ECE, IIT Guwahati Dr. P.K. Bora, Asst. Professor
ECE, IIT Guwahati. In this work, a Hybrid scheme
for medical image compression was proposed. Scheme uses both loss-less and
lossy compression techniques to maintain high image quality in the Region of
Interest (ROI). ROI holds diagnostically important information in a medical
image. Scheme
use: Ø Third order
Linear Predictor for exploiting interpixel redundancy. Ø Variable
length Coding (Huffman coding) to exploit the coding redundancy. Ø Discrete Cosine Transform followed by Bit allocation and Quantization. |
