Predict A Score Ready? Contenders Ready?

Gladiator referee John Anderson would be proud of you all. As he looks down from that great travelator up in the sky he will see forty+ competitors in their predict a scoring atlaspheres rolling towards the ultimate prize, the title of Predict A Score grand champion 2006/07. Fasten your seat belts as were heading towards the start at a rate very similar to Mach 3.  Imagine driving one of Pat Sharpes Fun House super cars and discovering that the brakes dont work, its that fast.

All that we need now are your scores and an overview of the rules. The first rule of Predict A Score is that there are no rules; the second rule of Predict a score is that you must ignore the first rule. Basically for those who have played before the same rules apply, for the newcomers it is basically a case of 3 points for the correct score and 1 point for a correct result.

So, for example, if you predict Liverpool to beat Sheffield Utd in the opening game of the season 3-1 and they do you get 3 points, if Liverpool win 2-1 you get 1 point, a draw or Liverpool losing means no points, its that simple.

You dont get anything for an incorrect result unless your surname is Bremner, sorry Im reading last years notes. The bonus game is double points.

We also have a couple of new additions to the predict-a-score festival, mainly a spanking new website, forum and e-mail address to send any scores to. The web address for the website is http://www.geocities.com/predictascore2006_07 and here youll find all the fixtures, tables, newsletters and copies of our scores (Mark and Gary) so we cant be accused of underhandedness. Therell also be announcements and other fun things to do over the upcoming 10 months.

The new e-mail address is [email protected] and we would really appreciate it if you could from now on send all scores and queries relating to predict-a-score to this address.

And finally the forum. We have competitors from all over the country playing this year and so thought it might be nice to bring your collective thoughts together over the upcoming season. The link to the forum is on the bottom of the web page but if you cant hold youre excitement back and want to go straight there to tell us how you think were doing a wonderful job then the address is http://pas200607.conforums.com.

Now, attached are the fixtures for the upcoming week covering all the weekend games and mid-week games played Tuesday/Wednesday. After this week well be sending out 2/3 weeks fixtures as Ill be soaking up the rays in sunny Cyprus spending all the predict-a-score money on beer and lap dancers (didnt mean to type that bit). The fixtures should be available to download by the end of this week for those that cant wait and if you need any fixtures after those weeks cause youll be on your hols then please let us know.

If your scores are not submitted on time you will receive nil points, on time being before 12 noon on Saturday!

And finally the important bit- The Prize money
