Concept Gallery

This is the gallery with a difference. All the bikes seen here are purely concept designs, most of them never seeing past the drawing board. The manufacturers produce these designs for several reasons. Usually the companies like to give their designers a brief with a difference, allowing them more self input into a design. Some designs maybe considered and a rare few make it to the production line, but many are just too ahead of their time. These designs are shelved for future reference and safe keeping. Some concept designs are made into prototypes, then put on display at Motorshows and Exhibitions, to show the current competition what their designers are capable of producing.
The images below are good examples of designs that are not quite ready for production, therefore making them Concept Designs.

INFO//: A scooter-replica of one of the sexiest superbikes to date. Its got to be the best scooter concept design for reflecting the looks of the bigger, more powerful version. This is a very good suggestion to how a Duke 996 would look, if you removed the huge motor in favour of the scooter-style foot rests. It shares the Italian's brand-mark red paint job, and even uses minature replicas of the 5-spoked gold wheels. Possibly too costly to even consider producing this design in today's market, but this could be a interesting insight into what future scoots could look like.

INFO//: Suzuki's attempt at creating a mini-reproduction of their already popular superbike. Uses the colour scheme and is heavily based on the styling of its bigger-brother. It could borrow Suzuki's scooter engine technology from one of their production models, as Suzuki is already a well known scooter manufacturer.

INFO//: This would be Kawasaki's first scooter on the market if they decided to launch it. To emphasize the relationship between this and the ZXR motorbike, it uses exact bodywork design, like the tail-lights, and shares the same colours but in a slightly different design. Shares motorcycle chassis features such as the rear swing-arm, large visible areas of the frame and has a exhaust/silencer that looks identical to that on the ZXR.

INFO//: Another motorcycle based design that shares the general design and look of the larger counter part. The Italian manufacturer is well known for its superbly designed motorcycles that says luxury and class, unfortunately at a price higher than the competition. This could be the same if the scooter was put in production, but with looks and an under seat exhaust system like this, it could possibly be a good seller.

INFO//: This design maybe the most likely to go in production if one of these concepts had to go onto the market. It's produced by a company with a good reputation in both the motorcycle and scooter markets, uses existing motor technology and has no extraordinary features that would add to a high production cost. Shares the decals and paint scheme from the popular Yamaha R1.
