Company of Dreadbane member disappears; accused of desertion, perhaps worse
Drad Ebortol-Okay, first off, don't expect me to go accusing one of my friends of some heinous crime. I won't do it; for one thing, he's my friend, and for another thing, I don't have nearly enough information to do that. But not everyone is so magnanimous. Ashalanthalas of the House of the Elven Minister of War, or Ash as my friends and I know him, vanished about a week before the Alliance expedition to recapture Drad Ebortol. For a while, no one said anything. Then once we got the city, I started getting wind from the Drenndish and Sentranian army camps that they had seen an elf scouting for the Nosferatians at sunset and sunrise. Despite pleas from his friends, the rumors persist. Honestly, I can't say for sure where Ash is or what he's doing...or especially why he's doing it. You could be close as hell with the guy and still not know anything about what was going on in his head. Lord Brian of Eboracum has requested an official inquiry into his activity during service to the Alliance. Eboracans...they never were too trusting of the elves. Anyway, King Stephen is going to sit on the council, as will I and one other member of the Company. But first off, we're going to go find him. We're going to find him and find out what exactly is happening. My friends all agree that something bigger could be happening here. The board of inquiry will just have to wait to convene. There's something a little more pressing happening right now...like a war.

Drad Ebortol-The capitol of the Eboracan empire fell to Alliance forces yesterday after a series of quick attacks and special operations within the city. "It [the invasion] was a phenomenal success," says General Caelan Greathorse, commander-in-chief, Sentranian 3rd Army. "Things went just as planned, everyone was where they were supposed to be, when they were supposed to be, and the resisting forces came apart in our fingers." The General seemed baffled, however, when I asked about the weak Nosferatian presence inside the city. I had been working with heads of the Eboracan resistance for more than three weeks and my friends in my very own Company of Dreadbane for four days prior to the invasion. It looks like all the planning paid off. At 0345 the Northwest Gate was seized by a group of 15 members of the Eboracan General Resistance Front (EGRF), led by Brother Angus, a Dwarven priest of Brynoich and a member of the Company of Dreadbane. A company from Chalice Forward Special Operations landed and secured Trader Gate only moments later while a unit from Sentranian Royal Marines secured the Northwest Gate. Eboracan forces captured the South Road and moved into the city en masse. The rest of the Company of Dreadbane and I attacked Maj. Gen. Lord Snyder, commander of the occupying Imperial forces, and killed him at 0400 high in the Sea Tower overlooking the Bay of Nantaga. After learning of the commanding officer's death and the capture of high-ranking officials in the palace, Nosferatian forces broke and fled into the center of the city. They surrendered no longer than two hours later, no more than half their original strength. By dawn there were 3,000 Alliance troops within the city, mostly Eboracan, while another 15,000 camped on the plains surrounding the capitol. When I asked King Stephen of Sentrania what I could actually report, he simply said, "the truth...just not too much of it yet." So here it is. He and other Alliance leaders want to wrap up the war by the end of fall. My friends and I in the Company of Dreadbane have an idea of how to do it a little faster, but I'm not at liberty yet to say what the plan is. Just suffice to say that it will be very effective...if it works. -Aeric
