This rifle began life as a Stevens 200. It's chambered in 6.5-284 custom, I have re- designed the neck and throat section in the cartridge. The barrel is a Pacnor polygonal bore, 1-8" oal of 29" including the custom 5 prong flash hider. The stock is Carbon Kevlar hybrid fabric over polyurethane foam core. Scope is the MKIV 4.5-14 TMR with TPS 20 MOA base and rings. The gun shoots 2" 500 yards consistently. Best group at 1000 yds has been 6 inches. Note that the nut is no longer present on the barrel.
Along the same lines as the 6.5-284 above, this is a .22-250 Ackley. The barrel is a Pacnor polygonal 1-8 twist. It fires a Berger 80 grain VLD at 3400 fps. This projectile, while boasting a wimpy 4 ft/lb recoil, has a shorter 1000yd flight time than a 180 gr 300 winmag, (1.28s vs 1.46s) and a little less wind drift. You can actually recover your sight so quickly after firing, you can see the bullet's vapor trail in flight. An invaluable feature when firing at distance.
At right: 300 WinMag, also on a Savage action. The finer 20tpi thread on a savage has a larger root diameter than the 16tpi on a Remington. This makes for a stronger chamber area. I shouder the barrel and omit the barrel nut used by Savage. This rifle, on its best day has fired, in 6 shot strings: 1.5" 500, 5" 1000, and the best by MOA standards, a 2" ctc 6 shot group at 900 yards. Scope is a Burris XTR-10 Mil Dot on Burris XTR rings and ferrell 20 moa base. The stock is custom of carbon and s-glass.
Above: 300 WinMag Savage custom. The pipe is a Pac Nor Poly barrel, 1-10" twist. McMillan A2 with our own Dura-coat camo finish, inspired by WWII German Armor. The Noveske KX3 Flash hider also serves slightly as a muzzle brake, and helps to redirect the majority of muzzle blast forward, away from the shooter, a nice feature whan the shooter may be in a situation where he does not have hearing protection. Scope is a Leupold MKIV LR 4-14x50 TMR on Burris XTR rings and a Near MOA base. This rifle shoots better than it looks.
Although I did not create this PU sniper, I did assemble it; drilled and tapped the reciever, installed the recoil pins, and inletted the stock. This particular 91/30 came with a mirror-finish bore- the accuracy is impressive. I can offer these complete for as little as $530. A better rifle specimen will get a higher price, but will show better accuracy.
