Custom Pistols 2, Comp guns
Springfield .45 V12 Single Stack built open style as requested by its owner. He wanted to retain the factory V12 barrel. This required re-engineering the conventional  barrel/comp union and the face of the slide. The slide is cut to a 45 degree cone, and rear face of the comp cut to match. This arrangement ensures consistent alignmnet and lockup. Looks fantastic too. Note how the spring cap overlaps the comp, and the slide to the comp fit. This was an engineering challenge. Yes, a .45 auto comp gun does work- very very well.
Above, Sprinfield Mil Spec SS. Nill grips, Tri glide trigger, CS sear, Koenig hammer, novak sights, pinned and flush grip non-safety, match barrel, and the flames just in case you don't look legitimate enough. Below, Sprinfield Blue Mil Spec with heavy modifications and improvements. The open gun is a 38 Super comp, with all the bells, wistles, and cosmetic surgery I could produce. The slide flutes are at a compound, 20x15 degree rake, the mount is carbon by SV, the slide is chrome by Tripp. We made only the slide, barrel, and comp chrome- opting for a 2 tone, more absolute contrast to the gun's appearance.
Back to Main
This is the most recent project. It was a WWII parts gun, in need of a facelift. The Limcat Compensator is an ingenius design. The first chamber vents out the top AND bottom. The bottom chamber is vented into a chamber under the barrel, and vents out the front, upward, before the bullet arrives. This eliminates the disturbance caused to the bullet in comps that only vent out the top.
Also, it seems to be one of the most effective comps ever- the gas is put to work sooner- eliminating recoil that much better. The user does not intend to "race" with this gun IPSC style, he just wants to poke paper and impress his friends- this piece will do exactly that. Fire control is all SV tri glide and CS UM parts.
Above, Para Ord .40 open class. Shortened up to fit in "the box" Brazos style slide lightening, and features a 4.5 " BBl, but retains the full length recoil spring for reliability.
