| Mini 14 Conversion: $250 This includes the hardware necessary to complete the conversion. The barrel must be removed from the receiver, and turned to a slightly smaller diameter. The barrel is cut, crowned and threaded 1/2x28, and the brake is timed and permanently pinned on . The springs are changed to improve function and performance. This price does not include any refinishing of the metal. In the case that the gun is stainless steel, the entire gun is glass bead blasted to a matte gray finish. Mini 14 trigger: $90 A pre-travel and over-travel adjustment are installed. The sear and disconnector engagement are precisely fit for a crisp feel and safe operation. Pull weight can be had as little as 2 pounds. From sear break to reset, total trigger travel can be set as little as .015". Bolt action rifle build: $400 labor Pac Nor super match barrel, from $290.00 install break, with build $90 for timed, $60 for regular. Recoil lug: $40 Pac-nor super match polygonal bore is the best on the market in my opinion, and the only barrel I recommend. The reciever face and lug surfaces are trued to the reciever's through bore. The barrel is single-pointed to create the threads- I never use a die, as they are not precise. The threads are cut to better than 90% contact with the receiver. The industry standard here is about 60%. The chamber is cut by no fewer than 40 reamer passes. I use floating pilot chamber and neck reamers. The neck and chamber can be cut separately to tailor your throat length to your ideal cartridge length. I use the Sunny Hill maximum recoil lug where applicable. The muzzle is a recessed crown, cut at a conical interface to the bore(different calibers and velocity ranges require slightly different angles). I do not hit the muzzle with a countersink tool as a final step in the crowning process, as is common with other builders. The trigger will be tuned to be crisp and controlable, and the safety engagement adjusted properly where appplicable. the bolt lugs are lapped into engagment to nearly 100% contact. The chamber headspace is finished .001" over SAAMI minimum spec as standard- more if you request it. This price does not include the receiver or new stock or new trigger or scope mounting hardware. Bedding: $150 Add pillars: $100 Marine Tex steel filled epoxy- a full contact pad moulded from the rear tang to a contact pad extending 1" forward of the recoil lug. Marine tex is the most stable and strong material I've found for this application. It is very expensive- around $10 per ounce. The average bedding job uses 3 ounces of material. Muzzle brake: $90-$160 The barrel is indicated true to the bore- not the o.d. at both ends. The threads are cut by single point, not a die. The brake is installed and tapered to blend in flush with the barrel. On stainless rifles the brake will be brushed or blasted to match the gun's finish. This price does not include the brake itself or finishing the brake to match a blued gun. Drill and tap screw holes: $30 setup, then $15 per hole. Opening a screw hole from 6/48 to 8/40, etc... $20 setup, $10 per hole. The rate for work not listed is $60 an hour. This includes troubleshooting, test firing, handwork, and machine time. We offer Parkerizing and Duracoat as surface treatments. Please inquire for price. |
