Literal Translation:
Those that wait (expect, look for and hope in Him) on
the Lord, and by faith rely upon Him and commit
themselves to His guidance, shall find that God will
not fail them.  They shall have strength to labour,
strength to wrestle, strength to resist, strength to bear.
As the day so shall the strength be.  Being strengthened,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles, strongly,
swiftly, and heaven-ward.
When the eagle's feathers become frail and weak (after about five years)
they abandon their feathers to become youthful.  The eagle will drop itself
down from the top of a high tree into the water beak first.  The force of the
water removes the old feathers and leaves the eagle helpless in the water.
The eagle cannot fly or swim and it has to struggle to get to shore.  It takes
six to eight weeks for new feathers to grow out.  During this time the eagle
must simply "wait on God" to renew its strength.  People many times care
for the eagles and feed them as they grow new feathers.

Just as eagles are strengthened and their youth renewed as they wait on
on the Lord, we too can shed our old self sufficiency and wait on God to
strengthen us by focusing on God and His wonderful Word.
Prayers
He asked for strength that he might achieve,
He was made weak that he might obey.

He asked for health that he might do greater things,
He was given infirmity that he might do better things.

He asked for riches that he might be happy,
He was given poverty that he might be wise.

He asked for power that he might have the praise of men,
He was given weakness that he might feel the need for God.

He asked for all things that he might enjoy life,
He was given life that He might enjoy all things.

He got nothing that he asked for,
but everything he had hoped for.
His unspoken prayers were answered
He is among all men, most richly blessed.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His hand
Too many people are praying for mountains of difficulty to be removed,
when what they really need is courage to climb them.
