"Hello" said God to me, "So you want
to to talk to Me?"
"I would love to, if You have time," I said.
"My time is eternity; what did you wish
to talk about?"
I answered, "My greatest wish is to please
and bless You Father, as I am sure is most
peoples wish. What are the things we can
do to avoid obstacles placed in our paths,
to hinder our daily walk with You?"
He smiled and answered: "Love is the
greatest and strongest deterrent to the
adversities you will face throughout life.
It takes so little time and effort to love and
bless people. Most people will get their
rewards now, but you can receive your
rewards both now and throughout all
eternity if you have the heart of love."
God reached out and took my hands in His
and we were silent. After a long period of
time I ask, "it is not easy to love all people
how can I accomplish this?"
Again God smiled and answered: "You must
love to serve and serve in love. Don't love on
account of; but in spite of. Love is an attitude
of life, it sees more but is willing to see less.
Ask in prayer for a big heart and pray for love
toward your fellowman, whether he is friend or
enemy. Think of prayer as a pebble thrown
into a pond, the ripples can effect the lives of
many people."
I carefully thought about all God had told me
and then I said, "I know prayer is powerful,
for You have shown me in many ways. And I
know that in love there is strength, for I am
strengthened with Your love continuously.
But often I am weak within myself, teach me
Father how to overcome my weaknesses."
Again God smiled at me and His eyes sparkled
with love as He spoke: "It doesn't take large
numbers of people to make things happen; it
only takes a few knowledgeable and committed
ones. True commitment means involvement,
want a beautiful bed of roses? Bend your back
and dig. Whatever is required to accomplish a
goal, be willing to do it. Discipline your mind
to detail, not distraction. You do not wait until
you are in the middle of a battle to clean your
gun. You must be as willing to unlearn as to
learn. Nothing is beyond your reach if you
reach beyond yourself and towards Me. Do
what I tell you and not what people think you
should do. Be patient with yourself and always
remember, temper gets you into trouble and
pride keeps you there."
I sat for a long while enjoying my time with
God. But I realized He had many things to
take care of. So I told him, "You have given
me much food for thought and I will work
hard to plant that food within my everyday
life as I walk in Your love and guidance. I
hugged and thanked Him for all He had done
for me and my family. He replied: "Age has
nothing to do with learning...desire does. I
have enjoyed our time together and if you
need me, always remember I am never
farther away than a prayer."
