There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.  For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.  Hebrews 4:9-10

My Resting Place

By Rev. Dr. James L. Wallace, Sr.

This is the day, which the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it. {Psalm 119:24}

I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart; I will enter his courts with Praise.  {Psalm 100:4}

We have come into His house to gather in His name and worship Him.

So forget about yourself, and concentrate on Him and worship Him.

Let us lift up holy hands and magnify His name and worship Him.

Oh!  Give Thanks, to the Lord, for the things He has done.

For He has already done what He said He would do.

Give Thanks, Give thanks, to the Lord.

When I was hungry the Lord fed me, with manna from on high

When I was thirsty, he gave me water, from a fountain that never runs dry.

When I was lost, the Lord found me, put His loving arms around me.

Oh!  Give thanks give thanks, to the Lord.

I heard the voce of Jesus say, “Come unto me and rest; lay down thou weary one, lay down thy head upon my breast!”

I came to Jesus as I was weary worn, and sad, I found in Him a resting place, and He has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold I freely give the living water thirsty one stoop down and drink and live!”  I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life-giving stream: my thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s Light: Look unto me, thy morn shall rise, and all thy day be bright!”  I looked to Jesus and I found in Him my star, my Sun; and in that light of life I’ll walk, till all my journey’s done.

My resting place is in Jesus!

In Him, is Joy!

In Him, is peace!

In Him, is happiness!
In Him, is my rock in a weary land!

In Him, is my shelter in the time of a storm!

He is my mansion.  My resting place that he prepare for me, where He and I have a fellowship and are one.

I am Born-Again, now.  I live in the Kingdom of God in Him.  My old sinful nature is gone.  Old things are passed away, behold all things have become new.

This is the day that the Lord has made.  I will rejoice and be glad in it.

I am yoked up, tied up and tangled up with Jesus.

What a friend I have in Jesus, all my sins and grief to bear.

What a privilege I have to take everything to God in prayer.

OH! What he done for me!

He’s sweet I know!

Storm clouds may rise; strong winds may blow.

But I’ll tell the world everywhere I go.

That I’ve found a Savior and He’s sweet I know.

I am resting now in Jesus.  His arms are my resting place.  Safe and secure from all alarm.  Leaning on Jesus.  What a Fellowship. What a joy divine.

I got Jesus and that’s enough

I have perfect peace, with my Lord so near.  Leaning on the everlasting Arm.
