Coordinating Committee Meeting

WE NEED YOU ON OUR TEAM! A Capitol Action Team has been formed. Joe O'Neill will contact the team if he needs people quickly. If you are a metro-area member and can be in St. Paul on short notice for lobbying or attending meetings, you could make the difference in getting our legislation moving and passed. Can you be part of our team?

Several members, along with Joe O'Neill, are finalizing the legislation we will put before the legislature. When the actual bill is ready, we will post a copy of it on the web site.

Decisions on the most beneficial and efficient lobbying efforts were made. The main items decided were:
1. There will be no single "Lobby Day."
2. The coordinating committee will continue to lobby our own legislators.
3. The coordinating committee will continue to contact other members and help them with lobbying efforts for their own legislators.
4. We recommend stressing that our group was denied the choices given our peers.
5. The main material to give to legislators, besides letters, will be the updated version of "Handout for Legislators (Revised 1-7-03)."

The next meeting date will be Tues, Jan. 28 at the Capitol IF Joe O'Neill can be present that day. If he cannot, we will meet Tues., Feb. 4 at the offices of Joe O'Neill's firm.
