OFFICIAL ELECTION FORM

TO: MEMBERS OF THE FUND WHO RENDERED TEACHING SERVICE IN THE FUND DURING THE 1968-1969 SCHOOL YEAR MEMBERS WHO HAD AT LEAST 20 YEARS OF ALLOWABLE SERVICE CREDIT IN THE FUND AS OF JULY 1, 1969.

The Teachers Retirement Improvement Act of 1969 provides (in Minnesota Statutes 1969, Section 254.1.45) that each member in fund who rendered teaching service during the 1968-69 school year or each member who had at least 20 years of allowable service credit as of July 1, 1969, may participate in one of the five following programs, except that the Total Variable Annuity Program is available only to Coordinated members:

          A. APPROVED MONEY PURCHASE PROGRAM
                  (You are automatically covered in this program unless you select one of the

          B. FORMULA PROGRAM
          C. COMBINED IMPROVED MONEY PURCHASE and VARIABLE ANNUITY PROGRAM
                   4/7 of TRA contributions into Improved Money Purchase
                   3/7 of TRA contributions into Variable Annuity
          D. COMBINED FORMULA and VARIABLE ANNUiTY PROGRAM
                  4/7 of TRA contributions into Formula
                  3/7 of TRA contributions into Variable Annuity
          E. TOTAL VARIABLE ANNUITY PROGRAM
                  (Coordinated members only)

The effective date of the election is July 1 of the year following the school year in which the election is made. The election, once made, is irrevocable. Several publications, providing information on the above programs, can be obtained from the office of the Teachers Retirement Association. The publications available, all of which deal with the Teachers Retirement Improvement Act of 1969, are as follows:

   WHICH YOU ARE PRESENTLY COVERED TO ONE OF THE PROGRAMS LISTED
   BELOW.
