At EACH of their annual meetings since March 2004, Education Minnesota-Retired has passed resolutions supporting our legislative bills addressing our inequity issue. Below is the resolution from 2005:".
Resolution 6 - Approved and Passed at Education Minnesota-Retired
Teachers March 18, 2005 Annual Meeting, St. Paul, MN:
WHEREAS all teachers eligible to make an irrevocable selection of one
of five pension plan options under the terms of the Teacher Retirement
Improvement Act of 1969 made such an election, and
WHEREAS all of those teachers were mandatorily transferred out of their
irrevocable selection, and
WHEREAS only those teachers who selected the IMP option were covered by
a legislative savings clause,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Education Minnesota-Retired support S.F. 543, S.F. 838, and H.F. 914 in the 2005 session of the Minnesota State
Legislature.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be submitted to Education
Minnesota for inclusion in their Legislative goals and to the Minnesota
State Retiree Council, AFL-CIO for consideration at their annual
convention. |
