The cruise of destruction
-Papadakis' apartment
(All the Rangers are there. Maria has just packed her suitcases and she is ready to go.)
Michael: So, you'll finally do it.
Maria: Of course I will. The Nasada Research Facilities offer me a great opportunity to go on vacation and I will refuse? No way, I think I deserve it.
Xenon: You definitely do.
(They hear the sound of a horn)
Maria: Here's my cab. Time to go.
(Patricia hugs her)
Patricia: Take care girlfriend and bring me a postcard. Or even better a sneak peak of the male passengers!
Maria: Patricia!
Patricia: What? You're going on a cruise, can't I at least dream?
(Jack hugs her)
Jack: Have a nice trip.
Maria: And you take care of our department. You're in charge now.
Jack: You can count on me.
(Michael hugs her)
Michael: Bring me a souvenire.
Maria: From a cruise?
Micahel: Why not?
(Maria smiles to him and then hugs Xenon)
Xenon: Take care, little one.
Maria: You too, big one. And also take care of mum. Her pills are on the top shelf, she likes milk every night and..
Xenon: Calm down, I know everything I need to know. Don't worry, we'll be fine.
Maria: Ok.
(She kisses him on his cheek and he does the same. Bobbie runs to her and tries to hug her)
Bobbie: Have fun Maria!
(She pushes him back)
Maria: It's Ms. Papadaki to you, Mr. Thomson.
(Bobbie smiles)
Bobbie: One day, you will call me with my first name.
Maria: In your dreams maybe.
(She takes her luggage and leaves. The others run to the window and after a while they see her getting into the taxi.)
All together: (Not sychronised) Hey! Bye! Have fun! Have a nice trip! Cya!
(Maria waves, gets into the taxi and leaves)
Xenon: Now what?
Jack: Now we're going to work.
Michael: Do we have to?
Jack: Yes, we have to or else I'll have to have you fired. I'm in charge now, remember?
Patricia: Ok, let's go...
(They all leave, except for Jack)
Jack: Huh, I always wanted to say that!
(Patricia enters the appartment again)
Patricia: Are you coming, chief?
Jack: Heh? Oh, yes, of course
(They leave)
-Spaceship
Mechpart: Boss, did you see that?
Vinabot: What's wrong?
Mechpart: The yellow Ranger left for vacation. You can destroy the rest five Rangers now that their power has been
splitted.
Vinabot: And take the risk of losing a robot against them? No. Five Rangers can defeat a robot, but one can't. I will finish the yellow Ranger off and then I will take on the others. Besides, I ran a scan on the passengers list. Most of them are buisiness men or their relatives, rich people. As soon as they're under my mercy, they will provide me with everything I need to destroy this miserable planet once and for all.
Mechpart: That's a magnificent idea, boss! What robot do you want me to built?
Vinabot: I don't want any robot, just one little device.
Mechpart: Sure, what?
Vinabot: I want a device that will put the ship under my control. And also I want dousins of Skeletobots ready to attack.
Mechpart: They'll be ready soon.
Vinabot: Good. Now I will finally destroy those Rangers, once and for all!
-The Cruise Boat
(Maria is on her cabine unpacking. After a while she leaves the cabin and goes onto the deck. She leans forward and watches the sea. She takes an expression of relief, and slightly smiles. A little girl approaches her)
Girl: Do you like the sea?
(Maria turns to her, surprised at first. She smiles)
Maria: Yes, very much. From where I come from, the sea is more beautiful than anywhere else.
Girl: Really? Where do you come from?
Maria: I come from Greece, a beautiful country in south Europe.
Girl: I know, near the Mediterranian Sea.
Maria: That's right!
Girl: What's you name?
Maria: Maria. What about your name?
Girl: Drew.
Maria: So, nice to meet you.
(They shake hands)
Maria: So, do you like the sea?
Drew: It's totally awsome! It's so soft and looks like people. It can be calm or angry! And she always understands you, no matter what you say. My dad's work allows us to go on many trips and cruises. Every time we are on a ship, I come here on the deck at nights and a talk to the sea. And when I grow, I will marry a sailor man, and we will go together on cruises!
Maria: I used to dream the same.
Drew: Did it happen?
Maria: No, it didn't.
Drew: But why?
(Maria, looks upset and has a hard time answering. At the same time, a man comes close to them)
Man: Drew, here you are!
Drew: Hi daddy, this is Maria. She likes the sea too!
Man: I suppose you met my daughter.
Maria: Yes, she's a sweety.
Man: I'm George Herald.
Maria: Maria Papadaki. Nice to meet you Mr. Herald.
George: It's just George. She adores the sea.
Maria: Actually, she reminds a lot myself, when I was at about her age, even younger.
(George turns to his daughter)
George: Honey, why don't you get back to our cabin and I'll be right there.
Drew: Ok. Bye Maria!
Maria: Bye Drew.
(Drew leaves)
George: So, what are you doing tonight?
Maria: Excuse me?
George: I see that you're alone. We can have dinner together tonight at the restaurant of the ship.
Maria: I'm flattered, but I don't trust going out with anyone I've just met.
(Drew returns holding the hand of a blond woman. The woman talks to George)
Woman: Sweetheart, I was looking for you.
Maria:...And I'm usually right.
(George seems embarrassed)
Woman: Hi, I'm Joan, Geroge's wife.
Maria: Nice to meet you Joan. I'm Maria.
Joan: Nice to meet you too. Drew told me about you. I see that you're alone on this ship.
Maria: That's right.
Joan: So, do you think you could join us for dinner?
Maria: Oh, I really don't know, I..
Joan: Come on, we are nice company. Anyway, we'll be at the restaurant tonight. If you wish, you can join us anytime. We'll be waiting.
Maria: Thank you.
Joan: Our pleasure, isn't that right honey?
George: Yes, it is.
Joan: Good. See you tonight then.
Maria: Bye!
(The family leaves and Maria turns again to the sea.)
-Cruise Boat, evening time.
(Maria is in her cabin, trying to choose what she will wear, until she finds a beatiful long, black dress. She smiles as she looks at it.)
Maria: Thank you Xenon!
(After a while she's already dressed up with the dress. She looks at herself one last time on the mirror and then leaves the cabin, happy.)
(In a while she spots the Heralds in the restaurant, nodding her. She goes closer.)
Joan: Maria, how nice to see that you made it. Take a seat.
Maria: Thank you. It wouldn't be kind not to come after you invited me.
Drew: You like my dress, Maria?
Maria: Very much! It's even better than mine!
Joan: So, what do you do for living Maria?
Maria: I'm in charge of a sector in the Research Facilities of Nasada, outside Angel Grove.
George: Quite impressive! You are too young to have achived something so big!
Maria: If I had anything better to do during those years of studying and working, I would have done it.
Joan: So, you're coming from Angel Grove. How is it to have a life full of action, danger, adrenalin pupming and all those stuff?
Maria: Excuse me?
Joan: You live in Angel Grove, the city which is under attack and the Power Rangers protect it. Right?
Maria: Oh that you mean. It's... I don't know. I'd say that it's sometimes revitilizing.
-Cruise Boat, same time.- Helm Chaamber.
(The captain and the crew are witnessing a drunk man entering the chamber)
Man: What... What's this place? Isn't this my cabin?
Captain: I'm afraid you are not in your cabin. That's the helm chamber.
Man: Oh no. I think I've drunk more than I've counted. I will just go...
(Tha man slips and falls on the ground. During his fall, he sticks something like electronic transmittor on the main computer. Nobody notices it. The crew help him get on his feet)
Man: Oh, no. I'm sorry, I just slipped and...
Captain: That's ok. We'll help you find your cabin.
Man: No, leave me alone! I don't need your help! I know when I'm unwanted.
(He leaves the chamber. The crew gets back to work.)
(The man hides behind a wall. He looks right and left and after making sure that he's all alone, he transforms into a Skeletobot and teleports away)
(People are dancing and having dinner. Maria is having a discussion with the Heralds when suddenly the boat starts trembling and the engines shut down. There's a short black out. Everything comes back to normal, but the ship is still immobilized.)
Joan: What was that?
Maria: I've no idea, but I don't like it.
George: You better stay close to me. All three of you.
-Helm Chamber
Captain: What happened?
Engineer: I've no idea sir. All engines are down, we can't get the ship to move.
Captain: That's impossible. Turn it to manual.
Engineer: We've already tried sir. It's stuck to autopilot. It won't work.
(Suddenly the phone rings. The captain picks it up)
Captain: That's the Captain speaking.
(A cold, deep voice answers. It's Vinabot)
Vinabot: Good evening Captain.
Captain: Who's that?
Vinabot: For now concider me a.. friend. I'm the one who's controling the entire ship now.
Captain: What the hell do you want from us?
Vinabot: From you, only a couple of things. You got a ship full of rich, boring people. You know, lazy creeps who think that can buy everything. I don't like them, but I do like their philosophy. All I want from you is to ask each one of them to sign a contract. A contract that will pass to me all they have. Money, bank accounts, credit cards, everything.
Captain: You're nuts!
Vinabot: Perhabs. But you better do what I'm telling you, because I'm one step away from exploding your ship into molecules.
Captain: You're lying.
Vinabot: Fine. Try me Captain. Take the risk. What if I'm telling you the truth? Are you willing to sacrifice five thousand lives for nothing?
Engineer: Captain, what are going to do?
Captain: There's no possible way that one man posseses technology advanced enough to destroy the ship, unless he's in the boat. GO! Find this mad man and bring him to me!
(With that the captain shuts the phone. Vinabot is watching through a monitor)
Vinabot: Very well. You asked for it. Skeletobots, tear the ship apart!
(Back to the ship some skeletobots appear in front helm cabin and start firing lasers destroying all computers.)
-Restaurant
Joan: That sounded like...
Maria: Multiple explosions.
George: My God! Drew!
Joan: What? Where's Drew? Where is she George?
George: I don't know! She...she disappeared!
Joan: (Sobbing) No! My little girl! Where's she?
(Some Skeletobots appear and start terrorising the passengers.)
George: What the...?
Maria: Look, you have to find a way to run to the boats and leave the ship.
Joan: But, where are you going?
Maria: I'm going to find Drew.
George: No, I can't let you do this. She's my daughter, I'm going to find her.
Maria: Don't worry about me. I can take care of myself. You take cover. I'll meet you as soon as I find Drew!
(Maria runs toward the exit. There a couple of Skeletobots run to stop her)
Maria: No, not now.
(She kicks one them and tackles the other. Both Skeletobots fall on the ground and Maria runs away.)
Maria: Drew! Where are you?
(She keeps running until she finds even more Skeletobots. The ship starts trembling again and water covers the deck. Maria attacks again. She roundhouses two skeletobots and punches another two. She tries to perform a kick but she slips and collapses. The Skeletobots attempt to beat her but she dodges and knocks them down. She gets up, obviously annoyed. )
Maria: Stupid shoes!
(She kicks off her shoes and runs barefoot)
-Hideout.
(The Rangers run in to find Xenon waiting for
them)
Patricia: Xenon, what are you doing down here? What happened?
Xenon: We got trouble.
Jack: What's wrong?
Xenon: I've detected robotic signs on the ship Maria is on.
Bobbie: What do you think it is?
Xenon: Skeletobots. I've lost conntact with the ship half an hour ago.
Patricia: What about Maria?
Xenon: I can't reach her to her morpher. Something is blocking the transmission. Guys, she will never be able to face all the Skeletobots on her own. If we don't help her, she's gone.
Bobbie: We got to do something! Teleport us there!
Xenon: Impossible. The coordinates are not clear. The only way to get there is to spot the ship ourselves.
Michael: How's that possible?
(Xenon presses a button on the computer and the image of five motor cycles appears on the monitor)
Xenon: Those are the Jet Cycles. They are powerful motorcycles that can reach about 500 mph. They're loaded with machine guns and laser weapons. They can take you everywhere.
Patricia: Excuse me Xenon, but ships are on the see. Motorcycles can't float on the water.
Xenon: Let me finish.
(He presses another button. The Jet Cycles convert into capsule-Jets.)
Xenon: With one switch, the Jet Cycles transform into powerful Jets, with incredible firepower, that can fly at about 120 knotts.
Michael: Cool!
Jack: Let's get those things and go get Maria!
(They start running to the exit, except for Xenon. The others stop too.)
Patricia: Come on!
Xenon: I'm not coming.
Bobbie: What do you mean you're not coming?
Xenon: Someone must stay behind, in case Vinabot attacks Angel Grove.
Bobbie: I'm going to stay then. She's your sister.
Xenon: No, Bobbie, I'm staying. You may need the Megazord. You can form it only when the powers are united. I'll be watching you. Go now and take care of her. And yourselves.
(Bobbie nods and the four Rangers leave the Hideout)
-Cruise Ship
(Maria is wandering around the ship trying to find Drew.)
Maria: Drew! Drew, where are you?
(Drew is in the lower deck, alone)
Drew: Maria! Is that you?
(She starts running toward Maria but suddenly some skeletobots rush in and stop her)
Maria: DREW!
(Maria runs to her and encounters the Skeletobots. She performs and air-kick knocking down one of them. When she lands she punches two more and dodges the fire of another one. She jumps and grabs the Skeletobot's head with her legs. She breaks it's neck. She then encouters the Skeletobot that holds Drew and tosses it in the see. She runs and hugs Drew)
Maria: My God, Drew are you ok?
Drew: I think so. Where's my mom and dad?
Maria: I'll take you to them.
-Hideout
(Xenon is watching over the Jet Cycles' status and the Rangers flying over the see. Suddenly the Alert goes off.)
Xenon: What now?
(He changes camera and an empty room appears on the screen)
Xenon: Problem in Sector F, of the Facilities.
(He rushes out of the Hideout)
-Sector F
(Xenon storms into the room to find Snipegrand destroying it)
Xenon: SNIPEGRAND!
Snipegrand: Net Ranger! I knew a little noise would alert you.
Xenon: What do you want here?
Snipegrand: Information
Xenon: Information? On what?
Snipegrand: I bet you know what I'm talking about.
Xenon: No, I'm not! What is Vinabot up to? Why did he send you here?
Snipegrand: Vinabot didn't send me here. I came myself! I want all the information you got on my boss' past.
Xenon: You're nuts! I got no information on him!
Snipegrand: Liar! Then why is he so afraid of you?
Xenon: Ask him!
Snipegrand: Vinabot may be crazy, but he is not stupid. If he says you know his past, then you know it!
Xenon: You're crazy!
Snipegrand: Very well. Then I'll make you tell me!
(He fires a blast to Xenon, but he dodges it. Snipegrand starts tossing things against Xenon. Xenon hides and crawls behind the monster, but Snipegrand is faster and immobilizes Xenon, threatening him with his sword.)
Snipegrand: The only reason I let you live, is because I need you...for now.
(With that Snipegrand teleports away. Xenon breaths in relief and lays on the floor)
-Some miles away from the ship.
(The Rangers are flying with their Jet Cycles)
Bobbie: Did you calculate the ship's exact position?
Jack: Positive. In a while will be flying over it.
Bobbie: Ok, thrusters in full power!
(They fly faster)
-Cruise Ship
(Maria is running on the aisle of the ship, holding Drew's hand.)
Drew: I don't know if I can't last much longer.
Maria: We're almost there honey. Hold on.
(They both hear a male voice)
George: DREW! MARIA! Are you there?
Drew: DAD!
Maria: I can see you Mr. Herald! Wait for us!
(Suddenly the doors of the room the girls are in start closing.)
Maria: NO!
(She runs faster but she knows she won't make it.)
Maria: Do you trust me?
Drew: Yes.
Maria: Then, hold on!
(She softly tosses Drew. Drew rolls under the door and ends up in font of her father. George lifts her and hugs her)
George: My little girl, are you ok?
Drew: Yes dad.
(The door closes and Maria is trapped in. Water starts flooding the room fast. The water soon covers her ankles and closes her knees. George runs outside the door)]
George: Don't worry! I'll go and get help!
Maria: No, forget about me! I'll be fine. You, leave the ship!
George: But...
Maria: You're wife and your daughter need you! Get to a boat and go to safety. GO!
(George nods and leaves with Drew. Maria is looking around hoping that she will find a way to escape. The water is higher than her legs, closing her waist)
-Jet Cycles
(The Rangers arrive above the ship)
Patricia: Here it is!
Michael: We found it.
Bobbie: Good job. Land in the back and let's go help those people!
(The Rangers land their Jet Cycles on the back half of the ship and run to the lifeboats. In the meantime, Maria is still trying to escape. The water is closing her neck.)
Maria: There's no escape... HELP! Can Anyone hear me? HEELP!
(The other Rangers help the passengers abandon the ship.)
Bobbie: How's it going?
Patricia: Only a few are left. In a while everyone will be safe?
Bobbie: Any news from Ms. Papadaki?
Patricia: Not yet.
(George and Drew run toward the Rangers)
George: Rangers! Power Rangers!
Michael: Calm down sir. What's the matter?
George: There's someone back there. You have to save her. It's a young woman, same height as me,
long black hair, braun eyes. Her name is Maria Papadaki. She was trapped in a room that's flooded!
Bobbie: Ok, thanks for telling us. We'll take care of it. You go to safety.
Patricia: This way sir.
Bobbie: I'm going to find Maria. You get everyone away from here.
Jack: You got it. Be careful.
Bobbie: I will.
(Bobbie runs away.)
(Maria is still screaming for help. The water has covered her neck and it is about to cover her chin as well. Bobbie is near her and hears her screams)
Maria: HEEEELP!
Bobbie: Maria.
(He is ready to save her, when some skeletobots appear and block his way)
Bobbie: Oh, not now!
(He get's in position. The first two Skeletobots attack. He roundhouses both of them while another one is trying to hit him with his blade-gun. Bobbie grabs the Skeletobot's arm and uses its blade-gun to shoot down all the other Skeletobots. Then he tosses the used Seletobot away. The water in the room has covered half of Maria's face, she
can't breath or scream)
Maria: HEE..MMMM.MMBBL...
Bobbie: MARIA!
(He uses his digital blaster to blast the door. The door explodes and the room empties. Maria is
all wet and safe. Bobbie runs in through the remainings of the door)
Bobbie: Maria! Maria!
Maria: Bobbie? Is that you? Bobbie?
(Maria spots Bobbie. She runs and hugs him scared and relieved)
Maria: Bobbie, thank God you're here!
Bobbie: Hehe.
Maria: What is it?
Bobbie: You called me with my first name.
(Maria stands silent and surprised by herself for a moment)
Bobbie: Come on, we have to go.
(they leave)
(After a while they are united with the other Rangers.)
Patricia: Maria!
(She hugs her)
Jack: Are you ok?
Maria: I am now. Is everyone safe?
Michael: They're all fine, away from here.
Bobbie: great. Then let's go too.
(Suddenly the ship starts trembling more than before.)
Jack: What is that?
Bobbie: I don't know...
(The ship started transforming into a robot)
Patricia: I don't believe it! It's becoming a robot!
Michael: Call on the Zords?
Bobbie: No, the people are still close. We could hurt them. Let's try to beat this thing with the Jet Cycles.
Maria: The what?
Patricia: We'll explain. Come on!
Maria: Wait! Time for a payback to this miserable ship. DIGITALIZE!
Maria: Download Digital Force, Yellow!
(She morphs)
Maria: Now, let's go!
(They run to the Jet Cycles. After a while all four Jet Cycles are flying, while the ship completes the transformation. Maria is sitting on top of Patricia's Jet, holding her digital Blaster)
Bobbie: Ok Rangers, let's take it down!
(The Jets start flying closer to the robot, firing missiles amd maneuvering. The robot waves its arm , trying to send them away, but fails.)
Maria: Go closer to the head Patricia. I'll give it a memorable shot.
Patricia: You got it girlfriend.
(Patricia goes closer. Maria fires a few shots, blinding the robot. However the robot manages to strike the Jet, making Patricia to lose control of it and Maria starts falling and demorphs)
Maria: AAAAA!
Bobbie: Hold on!
(Bobbie flies with his Jet, he opens the entrance glass cover of the cockpit and Maria lands right into his arms)
Bobbie: Gotcha!
(Bobbie closes the cover again and Maria is staring at him, when finally smiles)
Maria: You saved me twice in a row. Thanks.
Bobbie: My pleasure. Now let's get this over with. Digital Force, AeroBlast!
(The jets fly in a groups formation, like they are the angles of a square. They start firing lasers and missiles focusing in the Ship's Helm Chamber. The robot-ship is destroyed in a big explosion. The people in the lifeboats applaud them, while the Rangers return home)
-Maria's and Xenon's Apartment, twwo nights later.
(Maria is dressed in a blue dress and she is putting lipstick on. Xenon enters the room)
Xenon: Woaoh! Where are you going?
Maria: I have a date.
Xenon: A date? With who?
Maria: Bobbie.
Xenon: Bobbie? Like, our Bobbie? The immature, jerk Bobbie?
Maria: Xenon...
Xenon: The useless, boring Bobbie?
Maria: Xenon...
Xenon: The "Mr. don't know how to treat to people" Bobbie?
Maria: Xenon! Ok, I may have been too unfair with him. Two nights ago he saved my life! That's not something I can forget about!
Xenon: It's not that I have any problem with that. Bobbie's is a great guy, but you
practically hated him and now you're going on a date with him? That's not you.
Maria: Why not?
Xenon: Because you're rushing things with him. You'd never do that! You would wait for at least a couple of days more to discuss with him and then date him.
Maria: Oh, Xenon...
(They are going to sit on the sofa)
Maria: Look, you're right. Until a few months ago, I would do exactly as you said. But ever since you came back in my life, I learned to seize the moment like you did. When you became the Voice, you didn't hesitate to create a shield against evil. And when you became human again, you didn't stay away to adjust to this community; you became a Ranger immidiately and ran to aid us.
Xenon: But I didn't have any other choice.
Maria: Neither do I. Xenon, two nights ago in this flooded room, I thought I was going to die. And then I realised how many things I haven't done yet and I also realised that I wouldn't want to die without having told him what he means to me. We're Power Rangers, Xenon. We risk our lives every day.
One day we will run into a battle and one of us may nott come back for dinner. I don't want to wait
for this day. I want him to know.
Xenon: I just hope you know what you're doing
Maria: I do.
(The doorbell rings)
Xenon: Here's your date.
Maria: I'm coming!
(She runs and opens the door to see a surprised Bobbie staring at her. Suddenly the other Rangers walk next to him)
Patricia: We accidentaly met Mr. Handsome here, at the entrance of the building.
Jack: And we asked him hundreds of questions.
Michael: Which is probably why he's five minutes late.
Patricia: The both of us lady, we'll talk tomorrow. Now you can go.
Maria: Ok...
Bobbie: Let's go Maria.
Xenon: Have fun. And Bobbie, take care of her!
(They leave, shuting the door behind them)
Xenon: And drive... never mind. So what are we doing now guys?
Patricia: I can cook incredible pasta.
Michael: And I can eat incredible pasta!
(They laugh and go together into the kitchen)
