Trust Questioned

-Spaceship

(Vinabot, Mechpart and several Skeletobots are on the control room. Vinabot is watching the last battle of the Rangers against the Virus)

Vinabot: Those lousy Rangers destroyed the Virus. And now the Net Ranger joined the others. I have failed.

Mechpart: No captain! You haven't. Look, now that the Net Ranger joined the others, we were also able to find his identity. You can't give up now. The Rangers are weak after the strike in their headquarters.

Vinabot: I guess you're right. Let's see who this Net Ranger is...

(He presses a button on the console. The image of Xenon appears. Vinabot steps back, probably shocked)

Vinabot: What? It can't be him!

Mechpart: Boss, what's wrong?

Vinabot: Get out of here. ALL OF YOU!

(Mechpart and all skeletobots run out of the control room scared. The door closes behind them. Vinabot takes a CD and puts it inside a slot on the console. The image of a young boy appears on the monitor, next to this of Xenon)

Vinabot: It can't be him. He... they all died in the accident! It's got to be someone else. MECHPART, I WANT A NEW ROBOT!

(Outside of the control room, Mechpart is rolling to his lab, to program the new robot. Snipegrand stops him)

Mechpart: Snipegrand what's wrong?

Snipegrand: Why are you helping him? You forget that he killed our Captain and made us his slaves?

Mechpart: Snipegrand, your loyalty to our former Captain is remarkable, but it also blinds you. Our old Captain's dead, and Vinabot is the new Captain. He is our future, we must help him. I think he is obssesed with this planet and even worse he is crazy, but he's got the power to destroy us, or make us kings by his side. Think of the future, Snipegrand.

Snipegrand: I have nothing to think of. I temporarily serve him, until I find a way to bring him down and lead the ship under the dream of our old Captain. Unlike you, I won't become a traitor! 

Mechpart: Very well, it's your choice anyway. But from now, you better watch your back.

Snipegrand: Is that a threat?

Mechpart: Threat? No no no. I have no reason to threaten you old friend. I'm just warning you. If Vinabot finds out your plan, you'll regret the day you didn't listen to me.

(With that he goes while Snipegrand is staring at him)

-Computer Research Facilities of NNasada

(The Rangers, including Xenon, are working. Xenon is working like crazy, without taking one single break. Michael comes close to Bobbie who's staring at Xenon)

Michael: Wow, and I thought I was working hard. Look at him. He's been working four hours non-stop.

Bobbie: I noticed. He works that much that almost gets me pissed off. 

Michael: Why?

Bobbie: I don't know. I think he's doing it on purpose. Maria has been trying to talk to him the entire day but he's avoiding her with his job. I think he's hiding something.

Michael: What are you talking about? Why would he be hiding something?

Bobbie: I don't know! All I know is that as soon as he got out of the hospital, he asked Maria to give him a job and since then he's been working non-stop.

Michael: So what? He likes working.

Bobbie: He should be resting right now, not working! He's been hurt pretty badly! Instead of that he's been working all day more than I've worked in my entire life! Has he said anything to you the entire day?

Michael: No, but...

Bobbie: You see? Admit that it's strange.

Michael: The only strange thing in here buddy, is your shirt. Where did you get it anyway?

(Bobbie looks at his ugly- really ugly- shirt)

Bobbie: Present from one of my ex's... Look that's not the point. The point is 

Michael: Bobbie, there's no point in this talk. The man likes working. He returns from nowhere after years to find his family, new friends and a world to save. He needs to get used to this life and working is a good way to do so.

Bobbie: Oh, that too! Where has he been all those years? He didn't say anything about his past, not even to Maria. And how do you explain the fact that he knew about our powers and the Hideout and Vinabot? I bet my right arm that he reloaded the Megazord program when we needed it to fight Silo. And all this obsession with work? What, is this the first time he works?

Michael: Judging by what he's done within five hours, I'd say that he's been working with computers for decades.

Bobbie: But..

Michael: Look, Bobbie, you can conitnue with your crazy theories but I have job and unlike you, I don't plan to lose it so I'm going to work and you can't stay here and keep suspecting the man who saved our lives.

(Michael goes back to work and Bobbie keeps staring at Xenon.)

-Spaceship

Vinabot: Have you finished with what I asked you to?

Mechpart: Boss, what you ordered me to contruct was too unspecifiec! All I could construct was a robot, without special abilities and not very smart either.

Vinabot: What's its name?

Mechpart: Name? It doesn't have a name. I give names to the robots that have something special. All this one is got is incredible strength. 

Vinabot: So, he's got brawns of steel. So, that will be his name.

Mechpart: But boss, are you seriously thinking of sending him against the Rangers? The Digital Force have defeated better robots than him, he is no much for all six Rangers!

Vinabot: But he is too much for one. Hey, Brawn, can you understand me?

Brawn: Yes...

Vinabot: Good. I want you to go down to Earth and destroy the Net Ranger. He's got inforamtion that can destroy me forever. 

Brawn: Ok...

Vinabot: Well, go!

(The robot teleports away. Outside, Snipegrand has been spying on their discussion)

Snipegrand: So, the Net Ranger has information that can put you out. He may be useful... 

-Computer Research Facilities of NNasada

(Bobbie goes next to Xenon, who's still working.)

Bobbie: Hey Xenon. How's work going? 

Xenon: Good.

Bobbie: Good, ok. Is it better than your previous job?

Xenon: Eehh, yes.

Bobbie: Really, where have you been working?

Xenon: Actually I... I...

(Suddenly a voice from Xenon's computer)

Notification: You have just received 1 e-mail, with subject: Emergency.

Bobbie: Saved by the e-mail.

(The other Rangers run to them. Xenon reads the e-mail.)

Xenon: It's the Red Alert Notification. Skeletobots have been sighted in two areas: Angel Grove Park and Eastern Suburbs.

Maria: We split up. We go to the Eastern Suburbs and Xenon goes to the park.

Xenon: I think you guys should go to the park. You may handle it better.

Maria: No. You can't cover the eastern suburbs all alone. You go to the park.

(They all run away, except for Bobbie. He stays back, takes Xenon's Briefcase and opens it. He sees two folders)

Bobbie: What are those?

(He opens both folders. In the first he finds a disk, as well as in the second. He first puts one of the disks into the computer in front of him. In the disk there are maps of the Hideout, passwords, the structure of all the Digital Force programs and information on the Zords and all their weak points.)

Bobbie: Where did he find those things?

(In the other disk there is a password described as "access to the Spaceship" password.)

Bobbie: Oh, no. I was right. He's got access on Vinabot's spaceship and all information on the Digital Force project, enough information to destroy it! The battle. I have to run.

(He returns the disks to the folder and then back to the briefcase and runs away)

-Angel Grove Park.

(Xenon is walking morphed, looking for the Skeletobots.)

Xenon: I think that's how Zordon's Rangers felt while looking for a monster in this park. 

(Suddenly the Skeletebots appear appear in front of him)

Xenon: What?

(The skeletobots are moving like crazy. Xenon gets in fighting position but he soon realises that the Skeletobots won't fight him. They start running against each other, while Xenon is watching, and they mege into a powerful robot.)

Xenon: Crap! That's an ugly robot.

Brawn: I will kill you...

(After Xenon hears Brawm's way of speech, he isn't that scared anymore)

Xenon: Not very smart either. I fall into a trap, didn't I? The Skeletobots to the eastern suburbs were a decoy for the others, weren't they?

Brawn: Decoy...?

Xenon: Uugh! Talking to him is worse than fighting him!

(Suddenly the robot gets angry and kicks Xenon on the stomach, pushing him far back. He falls on the ground)

Xenon: Ough! Ok, I take this one back.

(The robot starts running against the fallen Xenon. Xenon stands up and gets into fighting position. The robot tries to punch Xenon, but he dodges and round-houses it. Brawn steps back but strikes again with a powerful kick, making Xenon kneel in pain. He then punches him with both hands on his head, forcing him to collapse on the ground. The robot charges its weapon.)

-Spaceship, same time

(Snipegrand is watching the battle alone. He notices that Brawn is ready to finish Xenon off.)

Snipegrand: What? Oh no, I can't let this happen. If the Net Ranger has information that can harm Vinabot, he is valuable to me. I must protect him.

(With that he runs into a room with a big cannon., He aims at Earth, at Brawn. He blasts the robot, forcing it to fall back and retreat.)

-Eastern Suburbs of Angel Grove, ssame time.

(The Rangers are fighting and winning)

Jack: That's an easy job.

Patricia: Tell me about it. I'm wondering why would Vinabot send them here.

Bobbie: I'm wondering how's Xenon going.

Maria: I can't get him on his morpher. And this attack is so weird.

Patricia: Damn! We've been tricked. It's a decoy!

Maria: We got to get to Xenon!

Bobbie: Wait. It might be a trap.

Maria: You bet it's a trp and my brother has fallen into it.

Bobbie: That's not what I mean. I think that Xenon may... have set us a trap.

Jack: What?

Maria: What are you talking about?

Bobbie: I first realised that there was something wrong with him when I noticed that he avoided talking about his past, how he created his powers, why he knew everything about us and all those weird staff. When you all guys left for this battle, I stayed back for a while and took a look at the contents of his briefcase.

Patricia: That wasn't nice Bobbie.

Bobbie: I know. But I knew there was something wrong. He was there when we needed him, like he was trying to earn our trust and although he knows practically everything about our powers and computers, he never even mentioned bringing the Voice back. Like he doesn't want him back. I had to look. And I was right. I found access to Vinabot's Spaceship and every file and password assosiated with the Digital Force project, along with information to destroy it. Do you understand what I'm talking about? He knows how to destroy everything: the Hideout, our powers, our arsenal and Zords. 

Maria: You're lying.

Bobbie: No, listen to me..

Maria: I won't listen to you. I don't believe that you're trying to do this. You're jealous, aren't you? You're jealous of Xenon because he has already saved us so many times while in your entire life you have failed to do a single thing right! 

Bobbie: But...

Maria: I don't even know why the Voice chose you to lead us.

(She leaves angry. Bobbie looks at the others and whispers.)

Bobbie: I'm telling the truth Maria, why can't you believe me?

(They all leave. Bobbie hesitates for a while, but soon follows them.)

-Angel Grove Park.

(The Rangers arrive and find Xenon on the ground unconsious. Maria runs to him)

Maria: Oh my God, Xenon are you ok?

Xenon: Nah...Mbl... Maria?

Maria: I'm here brother, I'm here.

Xenon: Where's the robot?

Jack: What robot?

Xenon: The robot that attacked me. It would finish me off if it wasn't for you.

Patricia: We didn't see any robot.

Xenon: I'm sure I was attacked by a robot.

Patricia: There wan't any robot here.

Xenon: I'm not crazy, I know what I'm talking about.

Patricia: So do we. There was no robot.

Xenon: Yes there was.

Patricia: No there wasn't.

Bobbie: Guys, guys, you both stop it, ok? Let's go back to the Hideout and find out what's wrong.

(They help Xenon get up and they all leave.)

-Spaceship.

(Vinabot walks into the control room where Mechpart and the deactivated Brawn are standing.)

Vinabot: What happened? Why isn't the Net Ranger destroyed?

Mechpart: Something forced our robot to retreat.

Vinabot: What do you mean retreat?

Mechpart: Someone must have attacked him by surprise. Due to the lack of intelligence he wasn't ready for such thing and so he left the battlefield.

Vinabot: Could it be the other Rangers that attacked him?

Mechpart: Most likely.

Vinabot: Well, if that's a problem then fix it. I'm not fooling around here. I said I want the Net Ranger destroyed and mean it.

Mechpart: Yes sir.

(Vinabot leaves the room. Mechpart starts some scans on Brawn while recharging him. He to the computers when he sees Snipegrand from a monitor, standing in front of the cannon. He glances at the hurt Brawn and then turns again to the monitor, realising what his fellow crew-member has done.)

Mechaprt: Snipegrand...

-Hideout.

(The Rangers storm in, morphed, helmets off head.)

Xenon: I tell you! I was attacked by a robot.

Jack: Agreed, but how was it? What powers did it have?

Xenon: Here, I'll show you.

(Xenon unplugs his chip from on his chest and plugs it into a computer. He presses some buttons. The image of the park appears on the monitor)

Patricia: What's that?

Xenon: We can use our chips to record our battles, so that we have an archive about our enemies and fights.

Bobbie: And you knew about it, while we didn't. Why don't we have sound?

Xenon: I didn't plan to use all my resources in recording, during a battle. So, here it goes. I'm in the park, walking, looking for Skeletobots. Suddenly, they appear and react the way you see.

(The Rangers watch as the Skeletobots are going crazy, while Xenon describes the situation)

Xenon: Then they start running against each other and merge into this!

(The Skeletobots merge into Brawn)

Xenon: I'm trying to find out who he is, but I soon realise that he lacks intelligence, if not a brain.

(The Rangers are still watching. Only Bobbie is not convinced.) 

Xenon: The robot kicks me. It's very strong. We start fighting and I lose. 

(They can see only the ground and Brawn's legs. After a while Brawn disappears.)

Xenon: And it's gone!

Bobbie: Interesting, but I got a better story.

Xenon: What?

Michael: Bobbie, what are you talking about?

Bobbie: You know that there's a robot in the park. That's why you wanted us to go there. You have set us up.

Xenon: Excuse me?

Bobbie: Let me finish. You look for your friend. When you find him, you start discussing, like: "Where are the Rangers?" "I didn't succeed in driving them here". After that, you both decide to perform a fake battle, so that you will show us this video, with NO sound, making us believe you. He pretend to be defeated and robotic friend leaves instead of destroying you. End of story.

Patricia: Bobbie, that's crazy.

Xenon: You bet it is! I'd never such thing to you!

Bobbie: I think you would.

Maria: Knock it off Thomson. Leave my brother alone!

Bobbie: Is it? Then why has he been avoiding talking to us about his past. What is he hiding? And why did he want us so much to go the park instead of him? What are all those disks and files in your briefcase?

Xenon: You looked into my briedfcase?

Bobbie: You bet I did. And I realised that you know how to destroy us. Did you know that the Hideout can be destroyed with one switch? I didn't but Xenon did!

Xenon: You don't understand.

Bobbie: Then why don't you make me understand? 

Xenon: I can't. It's so complicated...

Maria: I said stop it. You guys tell him something!

Patricia: It's not so simple Maria.

Jack: Bobbie has a point here. He might be right.

Maria: But...

(The siren goes off.)

Jack: What's wrong?

Patricia: The robot is attacking the area 20 meters away from Angel Gorve High.

Michael: We got to go.

(Michael, Maria, Jack and Patricia wear their helmets and leave. Xenon tries to follow the, but Bobbie stops him.)

Bobbie: Where do you think you're going?

Xenon: There's a robot out there!

Bobbie: We are going to take care of this. You stay here.

Xenon: Who says so?

Bobbie: I say so! I'm the leader, remember? And until you prove me I'm wrong, you're suspended.

Xenon: What?

Bobbie: Give me your Chip. Now.

(Xenon unplugs the Chip from the computer and then from his morpher and gives it to Bobbie. He demorphs.)

Bobbie: You stay here. If you try to interfere, the robot won't be the only one destroyed.

(With that Bobbie grabs his helmet and leaves)

-Battlefiled

(The Rangers arrive. Brawn is waiting for them)

Patricia: Here he is.

Bobbie: Let's get this over with.

(The Rangers attack. Bobbie kicks the robot's stomach, while it dogdes Jack's punch attack. Michael grabs it from the back and holds it while Maria and Patricia punch it. With a sudden move Brawn tosses them all. Bobbie round-houses but Brawn grabs his leg and throws him on Jack.)

Michael: He's stronger than he looks.

Jack: You know what they say: the stronger they are, the easier they fall.

Maria: Thats "the BIGGER they are, the easier they fall.".

Jack: Whatever.

Bobbie: We must finish him off. Digital Extermination Weapons, power up!

(The Rangers recruit and the DEW appear on their hands. They start attacking one after another. Bobbie tries to slash the robot with his Electro Sword, but Brawn dodges and throws him back. Maria attempts to strike with her Staff but Brawn grabs the staff and knocks her with it. Patrcia bonds the robot's arm with her whips, but Brawn's stronger and throws her away.)

Jack: Hey, robot, try this!

(Jack fires with his twin pistols and Michael follows firing a beam with his cannon. Brawn reflects the shots and sends them back to them, causing them to fall down.)

Patrcia: We are no much for him!

Bobbie: We must try again!

(They attack again)

-Hideout

(Xenon is watching the battle through the Monitor.)

Xenon: Oh no. They can't beat him on their own. They need my help.

(He runs toward the exit but hesitates for a moment. Bobbie's orders come back to his head: "You stay here. If you try to interfere, the robot won't be the only one destroyed.". He thinks for a while and then leaves the Hideout)

-Battlefield

Michael: Should we try another attack?

Bobbie: We should.

(They attempt to attack again, but Brawn fires at them and forces them to fall back. Just as he is ready to finish them off, Xenon appears and jumps on the robot, grabing its neck)

Maria: Xenon!

Bobbie: What the? After I warned him...

(Brawn tosses Xenon back and turns to him)

Brawn: Target sighted- Net Ranger has been locked on.

Patrcia: What?

Jack: It's Xenon he wanted in the first place!

Maria: What do you have to say now, Mr. Thomson?

(She runs to Bobbie and takes Xenon's morpher)

Maria: Xenon, catch!

(She throws the morpher to Xenon. He grabs it and flips back.)

Xenon: Thanks, Maria. I'll show some real stuff now, robot.

(He get's in position)

Xenon: DIGITALIZE! Connect to Server ID: NET!

(Xenon morphs. Dousins of cables plug on his body. His body glows dark red and the consume appears. The camera zooms on his face, which is bonded by a red material. It soon transforms into the helmet.)

Xenon: Net Blaster Online!

(He fires at Brawn. The others follow firing with their Extermination Weapons. Brawn falls on the ground and explodes)

-Spaceship

Vinabot: Use the Database!

(Mechpart uses the Database and the robot grows.)

Xenon: Ok, let's do it guys!

Bobbie: Digital Battleborgs, activate!

Xenon: Net Lightship, Online!

(All five Battleborgs along with the Net Lighship fly toward Angel Grove. All six Rangers jump in the cockpits.)

Bobbie: Digital Force Megazord, assemble transformation!

Xenon: Net Lightship, convert to Battlezord mode, now!

(The Digital Battleborgs merge into the Megazord, while the Lightship converts into Battlezord mode. They start fighting. Brawn grabs the Megazord and throws it against the Battlezord, but the Battlezords jumps in the air, dodging the attack and firing with its blaster at Brawn. The Megazord strikes back, punching, while the Battlezord has grabbed it from its back.)

Bobbie: Enough! Time to delete it!

(The Battlezord fires the net and immobilizes the robot. The Megazord fires the Digital Beam and the robot starts glowing black and lime green until it is destroyed in a huge explosion)

-Spaceship

Vinabot: NOO! The Net Ranger is still alive. As long as he lives, he is a great threat to me. I must find a way to destroy him and soon.

-Computer Research Facilities of NNasada, bar.

(All five rangers are there, discussing, until Xenon enters the room. They stop and look at him)

Xenon: Hey guys.

Patricia: Hey.

Xenon: We must talk. Or better, I have things to explain. Especially to you Maria and Bobbie.

Maria: You have nothing to explain, Xenon.

Xenon: No, I have. Bobbie's right. I do know everything about the Digital Force and the Hideout. I know how to create things, or how to destroy them. And I also do have access to Vinabot's spaceship.

Maria: What?

Xenon: Let me finish. I was the one who recovered the Zords and weapons program after the virus destroyed the Hideout. I couldn't bring the Voice back, though, because... I was the Voice.

Bobbie: Excuse me?

Jack: That's impossible.

Xenon: Believe it isn't. That's why I haven't contacted you and mum for all these years. I couldn't explain. When I was taken away by the members of A.B.A., the organisation was experimenting with extraterrestrial technology at the time. I've no idea where they found it. But during one of those experiments something went wrong. One of the computers went berzerk and exploded. A chained reaction started destroying their base. Only a few survived and they never came back.

Michael: Where were you?

Xenon: The experiment which was the reason for all this destruction, was merging a human brain with a computer. Karl Bonsam, their leader, thought that since my kid brain was pure, it was ideal for the experiment. It did work after all. My brain was merged with a high-tech computer. In there I was an adult. I could think and act as one of them. I never had a child hood. Unfortunately after the accident, nobody came back for me, for putting me back in my body. I connected my soulless body with a life support unit. I could supply it with everything essential. Food, water, whatever it needed to survive and grow. The old A.B.A. base, now known better as "the Hideout" has been exactly that for years. My hideout. I used my advanced knowledge to create a shiled against evil. When the virus striked and attempted to erase the files of our computers, it also somehow brought my brain my to my body. And here I am, by your side, as a Ranger. So you know understand Bobbie, why I was so strange.

Bobbie: You could have told us, you know.

Xenon: Tell you what, that for last 15 years I've been a computer?

Maria: We would understand.

Xenon: Anyway, what is done is done and I don't find any reason why we should discuss about it anymore. 

Patricia: We all agree with you. You're a great Ranger, and you helped a lot too.

Bobbie: You worthy of the powers of the Net Ranger. 

Xenon: Does this mean that I'm not suspended anymore?

Bobbie: (Smiling), Yes, it means exactly that.

Jack: Well, then we must get back to work.

Michael: We better do, before we get fired.

(They get up and leave. When Bobbie is trying to leave, Maria stops him)

Maria: Mr. Thomson, wait a minute please.

Bobbie: What is it?

Maria: I wanted to... I wanted to apologise for my attitude earlier. You know, when I said that you haven't done anything right in your life. It wasn't true, it was just me being mean. You're great at your job here and you're also a great leader. To be honest, I don't know if we would have gone so far without your guidness.

Bobbie: Well, you weren't so bad yourselves either.

(They face each other for second)

Maria: Now, I think we should get back to work

Bobbie: Yes we should.

(They leave together, discussing)
