Net in Need

-Angel Grove Suburbs

(In a small house, a young boy is in his room, uses his computer. He seems to be searching for something on the Internet. A voice is heard)

Mom: Daniel, lunch time!

Daniel: I'm coming Mom!

(Suddenly the system crashes and he's mysteriously desconnecting.)

Daniel: Huh? What happened?

(He attempts to reconnect but it is impossible)

Daniel: Come on you stupid computer!

(Suddenly the screen explodes and an electric beam flies out of it.)

Daniel: AHHH!

(He falls drom his chair. The electric beam stands still, starts growing and materialises into a female monster)

Daniel: What is that?

Monster: AHHHHHH! Finally... the Virus is BACK! HAHAHA

(The monster becomes a beam again and flies out of the window, laughing hysterically.)

-Hideout 

(Jack comes in through the holographic wall, carrying some food. The other Rangers are already there)

Jack: Here you go guys. 

(He gives the food to the others)

Michael: I miss the time when I was having lunch like an ordinary human.

Patricia: We're the Power Rangers. We can't be ordinary.

Bobbie: We're all tired and I know that we are spending too much time down here, but it's the best we can do. We must ensure Angel Grove's safety and with all those weird things going on, it's not gonna be easy.

Maria: Ok, let's sum up. A virus manages to enter our circuit and destroy the Voice and our powers. A mysterious man who knows more about the Digital Force and our computers than we do, appears and restores our Zords when we are practically finished.

Michael: But he doesn't bring the Voice back, either because he couldn't or he didn't want to.

Jack: Eventually we have a new Ranger who saves us along with the rest of the world, taking care of the monster entirely alone, after we've failed.

Patricia: Do you think the mysterious man and the Net Ranger are somehow connected?

Bobbie: Hard to say. It is a possibility though. Both this guy and the Net Ranger appeared right when we needed them and apparently they both have the knowledge to use Digital Force powers, which leads to another question: how did the Net Ranger develop his powers without the Voice? The Voice had the key to unlock the morphers.

Jack: Damn! This leads us nowhere.

(The alarm goes off)

Patricia: It seems like our little discussion will have to wait.

Bobbie: What's wrong?

Maria: Someone is attacking the city.

Michael: Is it Vinabot?

Maria: I don't know. I can't spot a monster.

Jack: That's impossible.

Bobbie: Apparently it isn't. Let's get there and find out what's wrong. DIGITALIZE!

(The Rangers Morph in a short morphing sequence and teleport to the hot spot.)

Bobbie: Ok, where's the troublemaker?

Michael: No idea. I can't see him around.

Virus: Look again!

(The Rangers turn to her surprised)

Virus: I guess that you are the Digital Force Rangers. Yes, I'm right, your powers' elements match perfectly to those stored in my memory banks.

Jack: What the...?

(The Rangers seem to be surprised by her... electrical appearance)

Bobbie: Who are you?

Virus: Don't you remember me? I'm the Virus and I'm here for a payback!

(Before the Rangers move, she shoots them and causes them to step back)

Patricia: Ok, I still don't understand why you're fighting us! You're obviously no creation of Vinabot!

Virus: I told you Rangers! I'm here for a payback!

(With that she fires at the rangers again, making them to kneel this time)

Bobbie: Ok, enough talk. She's obviously in no mood for discussion so, let's take her down!

(The Rangers stand up and recruit. The get in fighting positions and start attacking. They start running toward her but she fires some elecrtic bolts knocking them down. They stand up painfully)

Maria: She's too strong for us.

Bobbie: Let's see if she's the same strong for our weapons. Digital Extermination weapons, power up!

(The weapons appear on their hands, just as the Rangers get into fighting positions)

Bobbie: Form the Extermination Blaster

(they form the blaster)

Bobbie: Lock on the target...

(The rangers aim at the Virus)

Bobbie: Fire!

(Colorful beams are fired from the Extermination Blaster. The Virus jumps back and avoids the blast. Electric whips come out of her whole body, wrapping the Rangers)

Michael: What the...?

Patricia: I can't move!

Virus: Let's see what's in your morphers.

(As the electricity goes through the Rangers' bodies, making them cry out in pain, the Virus stores information for their powers.)

Virus: I now have the information I need to disable your powers and destroy you once and for all!

(Suddenly some shots hit her down, releasing the Rangers)

Virus: What? Who did this?

(As the Virus turns her body right, she sees the Net Ranger standing on the top of a short building.)

Net Ranger: I did this! I'm the Net Ranger and I am to be your worst nightmare! 

Virus: To me you're nothing but a big mouth!

(Virus shoots and electric beam against him but he jumps high and lands on the ground, avoiding the shot)

Net Ranger: Try again!

(The Net Ranger fires and hits her with a few shots from his blaster)

Virus: I will destroy youuu...

(With that the Virus dematerializes and vanishes)

Bobbie: Ough... are you ok guys?

Michael: I've been much better.

Patricia: That makes two of us..

Maria: He helped us again. The Net Ranger.

(They all stand up and look around. They see nobody else but themselves)

Patricia: Where is he?

Maria: He's... gone!

Michael: Ok, I take he wasn't thrilled meeting us, was he?

Bobbie: Let's get back to the Hideout guys. Things've gone even worse.

(They leave)

-Spaceship

(Virus appears in a teleportation device, in front of Vinabot, Snipegrand and Mechpart)

Virus: Hey... where am I?

Vinabot: Welcome back, my precious Virus!

Virus: Who are you?

Vinabot: Don't you recognise me? It's me, the great Vinabot, the one who sent you to destroy the Rangers' Hideout before you were given this beautiful organic form.

(With that the Virus scans Vinabot)

Virus: Yes, it's you. What do you want now?

Vinabot: I want you to destroy the Power Rangers for me!

Virus: And why should I obey? I'm on my own now. I shall destroy the Digital Force Rangers for myself!

Vinabot: I'm your master.

Virus: Not for long.

(A whip comes out of her chest and wraps Vinabot. She tries to scan for weak points but she gets a negative answer.)

Vinabot: Don't try to scan me. You'll fail. Both me and my ship are protected against your powers. On the other hand, you...

(He shoots with his laser. The shot hits the Virus who screams in pain.)

Virus: AAARGH! Ok... I will obey.

Vinabot: Good. You seemed to be doing great against the Rangers down there. If anyone can destroy them, that would be you. But, first I want you to go after the Net Ranger.

Virus: Why?

Vinabot: Unlike the other Rangers, he appeared only a week ago. We know nothing about him. He may be more powerful than he seems. Besides you didn't do it that well against him.

Virus: I would have, if you haven't brought me here.

Vinabot: Perhabs. If you think that you can defeat the Net Ranger, just prove it to me. 

Virus: I will. 

(With that she enters the teleportation device and vanishes, leaving a hysterical laughter.)

-Hideout

(The Rangers run in)

Bobbie: Who was she?

Patricia: She called herself "the Virus".

Jack: And she also said something about a payback.

Maria: I'll check the computers. She may be an old friend of Vinabot's.

Michael: She kicked our butts, alright. We couldn't even touch her.

Bobbie: Did you find anything Ms. Papadaki?

Maria: Actually, I did find something quite interesting about the Virus. When she wraped us with her whips, she probably tried to enter our circuit and find a way to affect our powers.

Bobbie: So...?

Maria: I managed to recognise the kind of virus she tried to use against us. She is the virus who destroyed the Voice.

Patricia: What?

Michael: But how?

Maria: I don't know. I can only speculate that when we erased most of her from our computers, a part of her escaped into another computer and found a way to materialise. Don't forget that we are connected to the Internet 24 hours a day.

Bobbie: Are you sure it's her?

Maria: Possitive. She is a unique virus. I would recognise her everywhere.

Jack: That's why she kept saying about a payback.

Patricia: She wants to revenge us for deleting her.

Bobbie: Ms. Papadaki, do you think you can track her down?

Maria: If she is still on Earth.

Bobbie: Then do it. She has more than enough skills to delete our powers.

(The Rangers nod and get to work)

-Mountains outside Angel Grove

(The Net Ranger is searching for the Virus)

Net Ranger: Let's see. The last signal I had from her said that she would be around here. I must find her, before she finds the other Rangers. She could destroy them with a snap of her fingers... if she has any.

(Suddenly an eletrical beam hits the ground in front of him. The beam transforms into the Virus) 

Virus: You were looking for me?

Net Ranger: Virus!

Virus: In flesh... more or less. What a coincidence to meet here.

Net Ranger: Coincidence? Not by a long shot. You're the person I wanted to see right now. (He's aiming at her with his blaster) Surrender now!

Virus: You fool... that's exactly what I wanted you to believe.

(With that she fires a huge beam, blasting the Net Ranger and causing him to fall on ground, coughing and groaning in pain)

Net Ranger: Huuh...cough!

Virus: Of course it wasn't a coincidence. I was looking for you. Vinabot was kind of worried for you and your powers. Apparently he was wrong. You're as pathetic as the other Rangers.

Net Ranger: What... did you do... with them?

Virus: Nothing... yet. I shall destroy you for starters, but then it's their turn. But who cares? I hope not you. You got problems of your own, which are getting bigger right now.

(With that, she shakes her fist and loads it like an energy weapon. When its fully loaded she releases the energy shot, blasting the position the Net Ranger has been too. After the smoke created from the blast disappears and the air becomes clear, she notices that the Net Ranger is gone)

Virus: Huh? What the... Where's he? He must have managed to dodge my energy blast, or I would have found his ashes laying here. But he's hurt. He must be near. (She starts searching for him) Net Ranger! Come out! You change nothing by hiding. You just postpone what's meant to happen. NET RANGER!

(The Net Ranger is hiding behind a rock. She glances at the Virus and then struggles to get away without be seen. He's heading toward Angel Grove)

-Hideout

(The Rangers are watching the monitors to the city while Maria is trying to find the Virus. Suddenly...)

Maria: Mr Thomson, I found her.

(They all run to her)

Bobbie: Excellent. Where is she?

Maria: I tracked her down only a few miles outside Angel Grove. As a matter of fact, she's heading toward the city the very moment we're having this conversation.

Bobbie: She'll destroy the city. Let's go!

Maria: Wait! There's something more.

Patricia: What is it?

Maria: I tracked down another signal, different from that of the Virus. It's heading toward Angel Grove as well, but it seems like someone running from her.

Bobbie: Could it be innocent citizens?

Maria: No. This is an energy signal, very similar to our energy signals.

Bobbie: The Net Ranger!

Maria: My thoughts exactly.

Michael: But why would he bring the monster inside Angel Grove endangering so many lives. Either he has no experience at all or...

Bobbie:.. he wants to warn us about the Virus. If he's running from her, then he's probably hurt. We must help him. Let's go.

(They all leave the hideout.)

-Angel Grove City

(The Virus enters the city, blasting buildings and cars. Dousins of people run screaming, trying to save their families and themselves. Not very far ahaid the Net Ranger is running with the last of his strengh until he spots the Rangers running to him. They meet soon. The Rangers aid the Net Ranger to stand on his feet.)

Bobbie: Net Ranger! 

Patricia: Are you ok?

Net Ranger: She's coming.

Jack: The Virus?

Net Ranger: Yes. She has a new weapon. She drained big part of my power. I need to recharge.

Bobbie: Don't worry Net Ranger. We'll stop her.

Net Ranger: No, wait! You can't stop her by yourselves. She knows how your powers work. She will take them away from you and then you'll be left helpless.

Bobbie: What can we do?

Net Ranger: She can't panitrate my circuit. Here, take this.

(He gives Bobbie a chip)

Bobbie: What is this?

Net Ranger: Plug this chip into your morpher and dial this password on your Digital Chip to activate the Firewall Armor.

Patricia: The... what?

Net Ranger: With this armor, the Virus won't be able to penitrate into your system and erase your powers. She can be defeated with one powerful shot. I didn't get the chance to do it. With this protection Armor, you'll have your chance. Use it wisely...

(With that he almost faints and powers down. In the place of the Net Ranger now lays a black-haired young, mediterranian-type man. When Maria looks at him, she gets a flash back with her brother been taken away. The young boy had the same expression on his face that this man has now.)

Maria: No... that's impossible.

Jack: What's wrong?

Maria: X...Xenon?

(Suddenly the Virus stands in front of them)

Virus: Rangers!

(They turn to her, laying the Net Ranger on the floor.)

Bobbie: Virus. Give it up now. Your little game is over.

Virus: You're wrong Red Ranger. You are soon to meet your friend, the Net Ranger. HA!

(She loads an energy beam with both her hands and fires at the Rangers. A huge blast destroy an entire building behind them, in a huge expolsion. The Virus laughs hysterically)

Virus: HAHAHA!

(Still inside the smoke she can see five figures. When the smoke is gone and the air becomes clear again she realises in surprise that the Rangers are standing there, safe and sound and the Net Ranger is laying behind unconcious but alive.)

Virus: What?!

Bobbie: I've taken enough of this. (he says in a quite but strong tone. He brings his left wrist with his morpher to chest level.)Are you ready?

(He turns right.)

Jack and Patricia: Ready.

(He turns left. Maria and Michael nod)

Bobbie: Then let's do it. DIGITALIZE!

All Rangers: DOWNLOAD DIGITAL FORCE, POWER RANGERS!

(They all morph. The now stand strong in front of her.)

Virus: I will destroy you all!

Bobbie: Think again. (He plugs the chip into his morpher and dials the password to his Digital Chip) FIREWALL ARMOR, POWER UP!

(His arms are covered with a pair of red, metallic gloves while his legs are covered with a pair of red, metallic boots. His chest is shielded with a red armor with a chip on the center and flame strips, while wings are attached to the back)

Bobbie: I'll show you some stuff. (Two blades appear attached to his gloves. He jumps to the air, activating the thrusters in his back, flying to the Virus. He performs a spinning attack with his blades) HYIA!

(He knocks the Virus to the ground and stops against the other Rangers, having the Virus between the four Rangers and him.)

Bobbie: Ok, let's DELETE HER!

(He loads a big cannon while the others are aiming at the Virus with their Digital Blasters.)

Bobbie: Lock on target!

Jack, Maria, Patricia, Michael: Target locked!

Bobbie: Fire!

(The four Rangers shoot at her back while Bobbie releashes a huge fireball from the cannon blasting the Virus. She is soon destroyed in a horrifying explosion leaving a behind a loud scream.

Bobbie: Yeah, that's one effective antiVirus!

(After that, Bobbie lands and the other Rangers, except for Maria run to him.)

Jack: Well done, Bobbie. Excellent work.

Patricia: Yeah, you managed to do something right, oh great leader.

Michael: And this Firewall armor is cool!

Bobbie: Thanks guys. You did an amazing work too! What did you think Ms. Papad... (They turn to see Maria holding the Net Ranger)

Maria:(whispering) Can it be... Is that really you...?

-Angel Grove Memorial; Next morninng

(The Net Ranger, unmorphed, is on a bed, with bondages in some parts of his body. Suddenly the door knocks and the Rangers get in.)

Net Ranger: Hey, would those be my life-savers?

Michael: I like the way it sounds. How are you?

Net Ranger: I feel like I've been ran over by a truck. And the cops haven't even started all those question yet.

Bobbie: Hehe, You can't really tell them you're a Ranger, now can you? Although I got some questions myself. You wouldn't even speak when we brought you here last afternoon.

Maria: Really, how do they treat you here Net Ranger, or should I say... Xenon?

(They all stay silent for a while. Bobbie fianlly speaks)

Bobbie: Let's go guys. We got work to do.

(He nods to the other three rangers and they all leave the room, leaving the Net Ranger and Maria alone.)

Maria: It's really you, isn't it Xenon?

Xenon: How could you recognise me after so many years?

Maria: Do you think I could ever forget the look on your face when you were being taken away? It was my nightmare for all those years. How could you Xenon? How could you be alive and hiding from me?

Xenon: Lots of things happened sist...

Maria: SHUT UP! Don't you EVER dare to call me sister again! You knew about us, you knew who you are. All those years I thought you were dead and suddenly I find out that you're alive and you're a Ranger? Have you got any FREAKING idea, how my life was during those years? Have you got ANY idea at all how my life would be if you were by my side?

Xenon: I told you. Lots of things happened.

Maria: Lots of things? And were those things so important to keep you away from me? Even if you didn't care about me, how could you not care about our own mother? She was all alone in this county, a widow, with one child to raise. Where the hell where you after A.B.A. died? Where were you when we needed you?

Xenon: Our mother... Is she...?

Maria: She's old and sick.

Xenon: Very sick?

Maria: She'll live if that's what you want to know.

(they stop for a moment)

Xenon: I know you think that I was hiding from you, but you're so wrong. Everyday of my life has been a nightmare. I was dreaming of the day that I would meet you again and I'd be with my family. But it wasn't that simple. I've got lots of explaining to do and I will, but not now. Besides, aren't you even a little happy that you found me again... sister?

(Maria runs to him and hugs him, crying and sobbing)

Maria: Of course I am, dummy. How couldn't I be? Of course I am happy. Of course...

(They stay embraced)
