| Jesus Christ, the Son of God was sent to Earth in human form to teach us who God is and how we can come to know Him. Let me show you some scriptures to help you understand. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) God loved us so much that He sent His only Son to us, to teach us and be a sacrifice for our sins. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Acts 2:21) Salvation is available to everyone. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Because of who we are, we are all sinners. It is the nature of being a human. A sin is an offense against God, deliberate defiance, and/or ungodliness. For the wages of sin in death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) God cannot look at sin and a sinful person cannot be allowed into Heaven. So if we are all sinners and God cannot allow sin, then are we doomed to fail and live a life of torment? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3) Repent means to feel regret; to change ones mind about. In other words, realize that you are a sinner (we all are), regret those sins, and make the decision to turn your back on those behaviors, thoughts and make changes. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. (Ephesians 1:7) God wants to forgive us for our sins, all we have to do is ask. And Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through me. (John 14:6) Faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to reach God. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God had raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) Now all you have to do is say out loud that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and believe that He is not dead but was raised from the grave. What does it mean to be saved? I have come that they may have life and to have it more abundantly. (John 10:10) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (John 14:3) To be saved is to live eternally with God in Heaven and not die in torment in Hell. What a wonderful gift God has given to us. All we have to do is realize we are sinners, ask for forgiveness, and believe. There is no love like the love that God has for us. There is no hope like the hope that comes from knowing Jesus Christ on a personal level. | This segment was meant to brief. We encourage you to pray about and study the verses surrounding these to get a better understanding. As you begin to explore the Bible, we'd also encourage you to begin your walk with Christ by reading the Book of John in the New Testament or Matthew, the first Book of the New Testament. |
