WHY PRAY FOR HER? Oprah Winfrey's influence on American culture can't be denied. "Oprah Winfrey arguably has more influence on the culture than any university president, politician, or religious leader, except perhaps the Pope," noted a 1994 Vanity Fair article. She has millions and millions of devout followers. Often on her show she talks about spirituality, and her fans eat it up. Her "disciples" will almost always agree with anything she says in terms of religion. The sad thing about this, is that Oprah seems to be an advocate of religious pluralism, that is, all religions are equally good and lead to the same place. But we know this to be a false, dangerous, and disastrous doctrine, as Jesus Christ tells us that only HE is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by HIM. Pray that Oprah would accept Jesus as her Savior, and that she would not be someone who just wants to please everyone so that she will be liked. PLEASE JOIN US IN PRAYER Father God, we pray for Oprah Winfrey. We pray that You would open her eyes to the danger of saying all religions are equal. We pray that You would open her eyes to the Truth that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way. Let her realize that without Jesus' death and resurrection, people have no way to pay for their sins. Lord, we pray that Oprah would accept Jesus as her Savior, and that she would trust ONLY in You God, and not in false religions to appease all people. Show her the truth God and open her eyes to the damage that she could potentially do. Let her trust YOU and only YOU as a Savior, and then preach the truth of the Gospel to those who ardently follow her. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen. | |
