vanilla essence-------------1 tsp
cherry--------------------------1 small pkt
maida-------------------------75 gm
b.pdr---------------------------1/2 tsp
cocoa-------------------------50 gms
butter-------------------------100gms
cream-------------------------1 small tin
for icing
butter--------------------------100 gms
icing sugar--------------------300 gms
plain chocolate--------------1
vanilla essence& rum------1/4 tsp

beat egg white& yolk seperately.add half-half powdered sugar to both.one smalltin of stored cherries is drained& tghe juice is boiled with some
sugar.add 1 tb sp of rum&keep aside.line&grease asquare cake tin.beat eggs& sugar well till stiff.add essence sift together maida&cocoa&fold
into thick mixture.pour warmed&softened butter.mix gently.pour into cake tin7bake in ahot oventill cooked.cool cake&slit in half.leave to cool
well.mix icing sugar&butter well.add essence&rum.pour the cherry juice over the cake.spread some icing over one half.put a layer of
cream&spread witha layer of cherries(sliced)place other half of cake over this.spread some icing on the top of the cake.grate the
chocolate&strew over the icing.mix balance of icing&cream together.put in a star nozzle&pipe 4 rows of star at equal distance from each
other.place a cherry over each star.cut into 16 square pieces so that the cherry will be at the centre of each piece.
