I am Anita Thomas earlier George. Well I am the daughter of Mr. Z.V. George and Mrs. Lily George and was born on 6th June at Palghat where Veliappen was posted with the railways. I am the second child in the family.

I started my schooling in Ernakulam then studies in Madras till Grade 4. My dad was transferred to Nagpur which is a place famous for Oranges and extreme climates, it is there that I completed my schooling and later did my Dental education at the Government Dental College. It was a 4-year course as it still is, after graduation I went to spend time with my grandparents in Cheruvally but landed up taking a locum job in Kanjirapally. I learnt to read and speak good Malayalam while I worked there, it was a great experience as I had never lived in Kerala before that.

I later worked under my Uncle and godfather Dr James in Ernakulam at his private clinic for nearly a year and it was nice to learn under him. I Joined Lissie Hospital as an Assistant dental surgeon to work under Dr. Chacko for a year by which time I was very much in the market to be a bride. Well before I completed my year's work there I was married on June 4th to Joe Thomas.

Joe's parents M.E. Thomas are from Ponkunnam, Karikatukunnel family. Joe's mother is from Changanacherry, Cherukara family. Joe's parents live in Delhi and his father retired as the Chief Controller of Export and Imports in 1984. Amma was a biology teacher and taught at Carmel Convent in Delhi. Joe has a brother Ajit who is married to Nisha (Vallikappen) and they live in Colombo. Joe has a sister Minnie who was married to Baby, who passed away in a car accident, she lives in Delhi and works for Tell Labs.

Joe and me have lived in Bombay from 1984 to 1996. Our older son Thomas was born on 8th march while George was born on 27th September. In 1996 we moved to Singapore and have been here since then. I have not been a practicing dentist and today come under the category of a housewife!!!

I have been interested in sports and even now try to keep it up. My older son loves to play the drums and my younger son is fond of sports. We as a family love travelling, watching movies and being host to friends and relatives.
