THE POINTS SYSTEM

THE PRELIMINARY ROUND:

The preliminary round consists of a set of 12 questions: each question having its own weightage:

Questions 1,2 and 3 carry 100 points each

Questions 4,5 and 6 carry 200 points each

Questions 7,8 and 9 carry 300 points each

Questions 10,11 and 12 carry 400 points each

 

Contestants who manage to score 1000 points or more qualify for the finals. Results of elims will be displayed on 19th August 2006 before 1900 IST

 

THE FINAL ROUND:

The final round consists of a set of 8 questions: each question having its own weightage:

Questions 1 and 2 carry 100 points each

Questions 3 and 4 carry 200 points each

Questions 5 and 6 carry 300 points each

Questions 7 and 8 carry 400 points each

 

The contestant with the maximum points will be declared the winner.In case 2 or more contestants end up with the maximum as well as same number of points, then the efficiency of their programs shall be used as tiebreaking criteria.

The results will be declared on 20th August 2006
