YOGA AND MEDITATION
Yoga is an exact science based on certain immutable Laws of Nature. It contains in it the master-key to unlock the realms of Peace, Bliss, Mystery and Miracle.
Equanimity is Yoga. Serenity is Yoga. Skill in actions is Yoga. Control of the senses and the mind is Yoga. Anything by which the best and the highest in life can be attained is also Yoga. Yoga is thus all-embracing, all-inclusive and universal in its application leading to all-round development of body, mind and soul.
Yoga is not magic or a feat of any kind - physical or mental. Yoga is based on sound philosophy and deep psychology. It is an educational process by which the human mind is trained to become more and more natural and weaned from the unnatural conditions of life.
Yoga is the means by which the human soul attains the Supreme Being and experiences the infinite bliss, which is all-perfect, unalloyed and absolute. Yoga is the approach to Divinity. This is the simplest meaning of the term Yoga. It is the ascent unto Truth, or the movement towards the eternal, absolute Reality. This science has been evolved by the ancient seers and sages of India and bestowed upon mankind for all time.
The pinnacle of Yoga is meditation, in which the mind gets absorbed into the object of its concentration.
Meditation is holding the mind on to some particular object for a considerable period of time. It is the regular flow of thought with regard to the object of concentration. Meditation opens the door of the mind to intuitive knowledge and many powers. Through meditation, the human being is able to release from within an infinite power, which lies there in the very depths of his innermost being in a state of hidden potency.
