"Philosophy Based Story #2"

Original Story by: Helice Bridges
Summarized & Analyzed by: Bank [12/12/2002]

When a young little six-year-old girl asks why Mommy had to make a casserole for Mrs. Smith, a new happiness was awakened. Mommy says that when a person has a broken heart, they find it difficult to work and do chores, so Mommy had to do it for her, as Mrs. Smith is their neighbor. A few minutes later Susie went to knock on Mrs. Smiths door and says, "Mommy says you lost your daughter and youre very, very sad with a broken heart." Susie handed out a Band-Aid and says, "This is for your broken-heart." Mrs. Smith through her tears said Thank you. And takes Susies Band-Aid as a symbol for healing.

Ends Based: Susie decided to do something that would not only help Mrs. Smith, but would also bring out a new joyful being into the community.
Role Based: Its obviously shown that Susie would want to live in a world where everybody would do the same thing, in which everybody would help each other when they are in need of understanding and care.
Care Based: Susie for sure as I would guess, would want others to do the same thing as she did to Mrs. Smith. Its ironic how the young, nave and innocent children could heal an old ladys mind, while mature adults couldnt or wouldnt.

Compromise: All the philosophies benefit all sides of the conflict. Susie had done a good deed for a largest possible number. Susie would want to live in the world where everybody cares, concern and be fond of each other. Also as a young girl Susie is, she would want to grow up in the world with peace, where shell have many friends and create more each day. She wants to be surrounded by care and attention.
